Have you used pumice much? I purchased it for my starting mix, instead of perlite. It appears to have the same benefits as perlite, except it also provides water retention. Will that become an issue with the seedlings 🤔 Should I just go to Walmart & get the perlite like u told me 🤦♀️

Good morning from Nelchina Alaska where we still have over 20" of snow, but finally the thaw is on. This is by far the area at which my gardening skills are lacking. Looking forward to learning more. I don't have much started yet. One container of Mixed lettuce and a few onion seeds starts. It appears one of my onions packages was mislabeled in the past and I have some of type flowers coming up. It happens from time to time. I am making my own soil mixes this year as well. Have a worm bin, we don't have worms in our soil so I have my winter com-posters doing a good job of getting me some starter mix. Thank you for taking the time to teach us how things work in your garden.

Thank you for creating this timely video. Was waiting for it keenly. Especially, as was experiencing problem sustaining seedlings 🌱 to plants. Lost several vegetable and flower plants this time. Once the tiny seedlings grow out somehow they just perish. Just yesterday tried to create individual green homes to the remaining ones using the plastic food wrap and less watering. Just like you’ve mentioned, I separated some seedling and planted them in the bigger pots. Also put some more seeds to sprouting process.

Its usually no big deal. Better the roots go out the bottom than get pot-bound....but if they are that advanced, might be time to plant them up (weather permitting).

Hey there wash a few of your videos today. Very fast. Which are helpful today its life. I’m really enjoying them as a new gardener. I will be using a lot of your ideas here shortly. And then the next few days. All right I’ll get to it so I have a outdoor porch that has screen around it but allows basically wind and light to get to it. If I wanted to transplant some strawberries or anything in my garden. Do you think I could get away with that? In this video you show a few things that you need to do in order to maintain these seedlings as you start but the one thing I know I don’t have out there is a controlled heat environment but I do have a fan. Do you recommend starting off with putting them in a very moist bin with a lid on it or is that only for florals? Also I’m trying to figure out the timelines for exactly when you do start this how long until you need to plant it again in your garden? Because I am wondering if I take seedlings now in July when my berries are fruiting if I am doing it too soon before the next season is going to come up and they’re ready to be planted? Any feedback is great thank you for your time.

Hi Jeff. I over wintered my strawberries in my garage. Covered the soil with straw. Today I took them outside and they all have white mild. I cut off the dead leaves and removed all the straw but my question to you is, what organic fungicide spray can I make up with products at home or buy and use on them. Thank you

Just a quick question. You mention that most seedling (except onions) require about 10 hours of light. I am just wondering how much onions need. I have tried googling it but haven’t got a good answer. Right now I have been putting my grow lights on at night and they get some natural sunlight during the day. Thanks so much.
