If you’ve wondered what local life is like in Kazakhstan, prepare to be surprised because it’s probably not how you thought. We talked about many social issues, had some Kazakhstani food, hitch hiked like the locals and just had the best day. Meeting a local/subscriber/now friend was an amazing end to my time in Astana, Kazakhstan. Hope you guys enjoy this video!

When I was in Russia last year for the World Cup I met an interesting group of guys from Kazakhstan while I was on the train bound for Adler (Sochi). I they're very interesting because they look similar to Chinese people, but they speak Russian fluently and they're Muslims. I got a chance to have a conversation to one of them who speaks English during the journey.

Basically Kazakhs are different from Chinese, many of them look like them but not all sinces Kazakhs are Turkic people, after Mongolian invasion Kazakhs had become look more like Chinese))))

@@Azamat-eq2rq The Turks were originally yellow people. They lived in the Mongolian Plateau long long ago. Later, they moved to centrol Asia, conquered some the white people tribes and formed the half-breed Turks .Nowadays people inTurkey are not truely Turks, they are white people conquered by Turks.

Great video! I am moving to Astana from Dushanbe, Tajikistan in July and I have seen several travel vlogs on the city--some try to cover everything, but this was truly unique specifically because you connected with a local person. I am even more excited to get there after watching this! I follow you and like your approach to traveling as I am also a solo female traveler.

People are pretty amazing all over the world. Most are people you'd like to have as neighbours and close friends. Alina, you're finding that out now. We have so much to learn from one another, it's ashamed we use the words "enemy" or "adversary" to describe each other. That's just not true.

For locals, there is nothing to do in Nursultan other than drinking whiskey/beer or coffee. No skiing or diving, it is too far to go for a picnic (it is virtually where dog die). Only two weeks of summer in Nursultan, and nine months of winter, squalls in winter. Almaty has much to offer.
