I assume that was Russian you were speaking and not Kazakh? Either way, good job! Where did you learn to speak the language? How commonly spoken is English? And what camera are you using?
@bauerjan78875 жыл бұрын
We spoke both kazakh and russian
@AlinaMcleod5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I speak Russian because I was born in Kyiv right before the Soviet Union broke down, but moved to Canada when I was 5. I had a period where I was kind of forgetting how to speak it, but I've been trying to really keep it up the last 5 years or so and its really helped. English seems fairly understood at the more tourist populated areas. There's even some English translations on certain signs throughout the city. The younger generation is also likely to know quite a bit since I was told its taught in most schools now. The camera I'm using is the DJI Osmo Pocket for more panning type shots or on the go type of camera because it's really small (and discreet for places you don't want to be too obvious about filming lol) and has a built in gimbal. I really like it overall and works amazing, but sometimes as a vlog camera I really have to double check it's focused on my face because I've had moments where it just doesn't automatically focus right. I also use a sony a5000 for said vlog moments if I have it on hand.
@GabrielTravelerVideos5 жыл бұрын
@@AlinaMcleod I see, good to know. I've heard about the DJI Pocket, nice to see it in action, it's looking pretty good. I film with a Gopro, I'd be curious to compare the two side by side sometime and see which I like better. The Gopro does great as well but I do have a few issues with it. Have a great time in Kazakhstan.

Hi Alina Am planning a visit to Kazakh next year after covid lockdowns relaxes. What are the best places to see and best eateries to visit ? How many days should I spare for the place ? Are there any other places apart from Almaty that are worth a watch ?
@AlinaMcleod4 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Overall I'd say Astana and Almaty are musts as far as cities go. Big Almaty Lake is a breathtaking and a quick day trip, as well as Shembulack. I have videos of both those places if you wanted to get an idea of what they're like. As far as restaurants go I can't really give a lot of recommendations since we mainly ate at home, but the restaurant in the video would definitely be worth a visit. I'd say you need at least a week if you're going to visit both cities, preferably longer.

Really glad you are enjoying your stay in Kazakstan. Are you allowed to fly your drone in the country? I saw a very recent video of that country from the blogger Jason Billam where he visited the capital Nur-Sultan.
@AlinaMcleod5 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting. I'm actually there now. Was he able to fly his or did he get in trouble? I've had no issues flying mine when I was in more natural sites, but did have some video transmission problems when I tried to fly it in a park in Almaty. Don't know if it was because of signal interference or what but I decided to not risk it and just brought it down.

@@AlinaMcleod Sorry - the comment about that blogger was separate from my question about your drone. I don't believe he uses a drone.
