Green Lane station is not a station I have seen before (not even as a photograph), but it certainly has a uniqueness about it, quite different to any other station I have seen. Thank you for sharing your day on the Merseyrail network Simon, it's been an enjoyable watch. 🙂

Nice one SimOnTrains. Fast Merseyrail? Gosh, never thought or seen this before. Green Lane station does look mega to go to. Season Greetings to you :-)

It is understandable why these stations have a reduced service pattern but still I and many others don't agree with it. At least you enjoyed the ever satisfying Green Lane Station and it's brilliant! Yes that disused bridge carried the GWR line to Birkenhead Woodside! Glad you got maccies as it's getting colder now. I've enjoyed the video as always! I work in an industry where travelling to Capenhurst is common. I always smile seeing the sign at the front of the platform at Beche "Do you stop at Capenhurst?" Looks like there have been overcarries

Compared to this Green Lane, the Greenlane station is Auckland is quite spartan. It's just an island platform separated from the motorway by a thick line of trees, with the only access being a steep ramp down from the road overbridge. Trying to work out what the differences are between the Class 507 and Class 508 units, I remembered that the 507s are 3-car units that have run in Merseyside all their lives, while the 508s were originally 4-car units running on the Southern Region. When the units were transferred north, spare TSO coaches were re-used in the Class 455/7s.

Brilliant Video Simon with an opportunity with you seeing my Beloved Local PEPs again during the first of the day a Chester Service does stop at those 3 Merseyrail Train Stations as for the rest of the Chester Train Services on a bases of every single day until the last Train Service they run none stop semi-fast through 3 Merseyrail Train Station's, Green Lane, Bromborough Rake and Capenhurst but by February Chester Train Services will go back back towards the previous principle Train Services, as for Green Lane Train Station there is so quite hidden History of that Station itself not only that disused Railway Bridge outside the Station concourse go to Birkenhead Woodside during Mersey Railway Steam Days but also the line itself use to join the partly towards the disused Steam Engine sheds at Birkenhead Mollington Street as well partly beyond that point all of the Track beds have been since dug up:)

These skipping services are still in place for the December timetable surprisingly. It is unknown when the services will be restored, although services on the Hunts Cross line are actually going back to normal, so not sure why they've decided not to bother on the wirral.

Brilliant video Cyber, I've only been through Green Lane station and not stopped there at all. It does look lovely so I'll have to pay a visit there someday. :)

Great vlog with some fantastic shots plus brilliant locations. Enjoy the running commentary accompanying the history of the stations you visit. Really enjoyed it.

Great video, it's strange seeing places I know very well in one of your videos. Spitle isn't really part of Bromborough despite the stations being relatively close. I've always thought Green Lane is a bit grim.

Those Merseyrail units sound rough. I rode on one a few years ago and it didn't get past Rock Ferry. Got taken out of service. Roll on the 777's

I recommend getting a ticket to Chester and then getting a Merseyrail Day Saver as it much cheaper and will be a lot more worth it for money.

Farewell Merseyrail Class 507 and Class 508. They will soon be missed once the new Class 777 Metro units have entered service from next year.

Due to launch in 2029. Not that it makes much difference, the network is on strike 95% of the time.

You could have got a single day travel pass for £5.50 no need to split ticket. Go anywhere on the Merseyrail Network, all day. Also, it's absurd to have taken off Green Lane and Bromborough Rake from the Chester service. Now you can't travel direct to Chester from either of those two stations DOH! By the way, I use all the services all the time and it's now much less punctual across the board derrr!
@Sim0nTrains Жыл бұрын
The £5.50 day pass is 50/50 after looking it up, if I'm getting a Off Peak Return to Chester and then use the pass, it costs more and pointless with the pass. If the ticket from Rugeley to Chester were advance at around £13 total, it be cheaper by 70p
@GilesRodgers Жыл бұрын
@@Sim0nTrains Haha, pricing of tickets is a lotto. If I buy a ticket from Chester to Runcorn Eastb it's about £6.05 but if I buy it at Bromborough then it's £4.55... So it's cheaper to go further and across two operators !!!
