As a regular commuter on the merseyrail network, another bugbear for me on the older trains is people sitting in the seats in the bike storage. Thankfully the new bike storage areas don't have seats

The TfW Class 230 D-Trains are very nice. Shame that London Northwestern Railway couldn’t keep the Class 230s that were used on the Marston Vale line but at least TfW are keeping the Class 230s on the Borderlands Line.

It does seen rather ironic that these 2 class 508 trains were being towed to the scrapyard by a diesel engine that is 20 years older than they are, and still in mainline service. Thank you for sharing Simon. 😎

Brilliant video Cyber, that missed connetion did mean you were able to get the scrap move for 508 111 twice and get fantastic shots of it. Shame you wern't able to have a 230 ride into Wrexham Central though.

Great vlog Simon. Great capture of The Beetles Merseyrail PEP at Wrexham. Shame you missed the connection at Chester on the way home. Honestly people blocking the doors is too common now especially at Crewe came in On late LNR service and people were trying to push past me another man to get on, I lost my temper as I shoved past them all and shouted the f word at them whoops lol. I enjoyed watching as always.

Quick edit... as I've just watched your other video chasing 508111, I see that you mention its going to be withdrawn. So thanks for that.

Thanks Peter. Think with it was withdrawn on the 6th or 7th September. It was planned to be sent for scrap on the 7th September but the withdrawal date was pushed back as it was meant to be withdrawn on the 1st September. it spent the weekened at Birkenhead North Depot, this video was filmed on Monday, 11th September. It was a quick edit, got the 'base' down before The Monday Club started and finished most of it after the show (B Roll, Music, text), Proofed watch it on Tuesday and was saved by Tuesday Lunchtime.

Your comment about the TfW 158 to Birmingham International is questionable. Firstly, the service from Shrewsbury is supposed to be 4 cars because the trains are always packed to the gills via Wellington, Telford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Secondly, much of the time there are only 2 car 158s throughout, making the journey intolerable between Shrewsbury and Birmingham. There are even cases (many of them) of Class 150s being used (2 cars only) on these services and those from Manchester to South West Wales. These situations are in breach of the punctuality and reliability regulations that includes loadings and allocated carriages/seats per service.

Your first comment is 100% true, does need to be four coaches between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street/Birmingham International. Sadly it what TFW have available at the time with their rolling stock
