Today, we're at the premiere, red carpet, and opening night for HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD in San Francisco! Growing up, I was a huge #HarryPotter nerd, so naturally I was dying to see the stage play. Needless to say...it was unlike anything I've ever seen before.
Here's a brief synopsis & ticketing information for the San Francisco production at the Curran Theater!
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and the father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

TICKET INFORMATION
Booking Period
Tickets are currently on sale through June 20, 2020, at HarryPotterOnStage.com and in person at the Curran Theater box office. Additional tickets will be released on Friday, December 6 at 11 a.m. PT, for performances through July 12, 2020. The box office hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12-8p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (closed Monday).

Friday Forty
Every Friday at 1 p.m. PT, tickets for performances the following week are made available to fans for some of the very best seats in the theater at $40 ($20 per Part). These tickets are known as the “Friday Forty” and are only be available via the official website HarryPotterOnStage.com, TodayTix.com, or the TodayTix App.
To win access to purchase the “Friday Forty” tickets, fans can enter via Today Tix from Monday 12:01 a.m. PT until Friday 1 p.m. PT for the following week’s performances. Winners are notified each Friday between 1 p.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.

I recently saw Dear Evan Hansen and wow. It really reminded me how much of an impact theatre can have on a life. I remember watching Ben Platt preform Waving through a Window on the Tonys and I loved it. I listened to the soundtrack on repeat the next couple of weeks annoying my family to death. I went through a lot of really rough patches and I would listen to music to help me cope, specifically DEH. When I saw it live I cried during Waving through a window because I so happy to see it live. But I bawled during You Will be Found because the song has inspired me and gotten me through so many hard times. It reminded me how powerful seeing a show live is.

I live in London and I’ve seen the show twice and yesss its soooooo good buuuuut as a massive potter head as much as I love love love the show it’s really hard for me to see the story as anything but a fanfic you know it’s just doesn’t feel like Harry Potter to me but still the actors, set design, production etc is still extraordinary

I adore this play with all my soul. Have watched it four times (two times in London and two times in Broadway) and, oohhh lord, it always feels like the first time. Such a masterpiece. With you saying how kind the cast was, I stage doored and the guy who was playing Ron, went from the end and work his way to the front, then talked to me and my sister for a decent amount of time, about the fizzing wizzbees

i saw this show in new york with the original cast and it was absolutely phenomenal. it was also very surreal to see you talking about this on your channel because i know a few people in the cast. one of them goes to my school and it's so strange but so cool. it just gives me the motivation to continue on with my dreams. so amazing, ahhhhhh.

I love this! The SF production is the only English production of cursed child that I haven’t seen (with the bad exchange rate tickets were too expensive) my mind was absolutely blown when I saw it on the West End 3 years ago, so much so we had to see the Original cast on broadway, and then when I was in Australia I had to see it in Melbourne too. I Plan to see it in Toronto when it eventually opens. From the choreography and the music, to the special effects and magic, this show is probably the best show I’ve ever seen!

okay wait I want to talk about this but I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm gonna try to hide it lol. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yeah, for the whole first act, that was DEF the vibe I was getting. I was never a HarryxDraco shipper, but ScorpiusxAlbus made a lot of sense (& didn't feel like fan service!). The way some of the scenes were played, particularly in the train car montage I straight up *thought* they kissed lol. But I also thought it was really interesting, compelling, and necessary to see a show about the power of love that *wasn't* of the romantic/sexual variety

The end of part 1 was so unbelievably breathtaking... when I went to see it in London I managed to get last-minute box seats and you could even see the special effect there too! CRAZY attention to detail I was mindblown Edit: I'm still not over the fact that Jamie Ballard came to our classroom to talk with us about the show and theater in general, I nearly lost it when he recognized us and said hi at the stage door

I am seeing this video wayyyyy late (yay quarantine...or something like that...!), but I am an usher with some information on the term "loge!" Loge is a real term used to describe seating in a theater's house! Loge is the lower mezzanine, but it really depends what theater you're in. Not every theater will designate that seating as special and call it the loge and rather just include it in the mezzanine itself. Only one of my home theaters (of 2) refers to this seating as the loge as it is numbered very differently from the rest of the seating in our mezzanine (again, this is different in every theater but in mine it is extra wonky). Hope this helped!

The show is basically just super long! You have Part 1, which is a full 2 hour show (with two acts & an intermission)! And then you have Part 2, which is another full 2 hour show (with two acts & an intermission)! You're supposed to see both parts-- otherwise the story wouldn't really make sense-- but there's just not enough time to do both shows in a single evening. We went on a Sunday, so we saw Part 1 as a matinee and Part 2 in the evening
