I finally got the call, my custom-ordered 2024 Ford Maverick is in and I get to sneak a peak at it. Fresh off the truck, still wrapped in plastic and stickers and stuck in transport mode, but all that means to me is: the wait is OVER! Brendan - great to see that your truck is in! Pressing the fuel door button supposedly vents the tank before the gas door pops. If you want to start the hybrid engine - after you push the push to start button (and it doesn’t start) - hold the gas pedal 1/2 way down and it will fire up the engine. I like the dust hiding exterior color - a good choice! 1+ year into my Mav Lariat, and I still find that push to start button to be in an awkward spot. Steering column does adjust. Did you get adaptive speed control - with lane centering? That works quite well for freeways/highways/traffic jams. Enjoy!

Ooh thanks for the tips!! I need to know more of these kinds of things. Yeah the 2024 Lariat forces you to get the luxury package too now, so it’s darn near fully loaded! I’m curious to try out adaptive cruise because in a couple cars I’ve tried it is really annoying.

@@brendandrives - the annoying part is the radar’s field of view is too wide, read: cautious! When the truck slams on the brakes bc the person in front of you is turning, or someone crossed your path (and the truck panics), you can press on the gas (assuming the path is clear), and the braking stops. Lane centering and adjustable following distance are cool features on a truck at this price point.

Ooh yeah that's largely the parts I don't like. The also sometimes are either ignorant of cars ahead or very aggressively braking without a lot of gray area in between.

@@brendandrives - as long as the cars in front of you are moving, the braking is pretty good, but if you’re expecting the radar to pick up a stopped car that you are quickly approaching, and then nicely brake for it, you’ve got another thing coming!

I put an aftermarket entry keypad on my wife's mustang. It looked good and worked great. I mounted it on drivers side below the windshield so it wasn't visible unless you looked for it. KZbinr "Kevin" started a channel when he purchased his 2022 PowerBoost F150 but had trouble getting subscribers. I bought a PowerBoost at the same time so was hoping to learn a lot from his channel and then he had quality issues with his truck and ended up getting rid of it. I hope your channel goes better. My wife has a 2020 Escape Titanium Hybrid which is same basic as your Maverick. We had been very pleased with that vehicle until she had to fit 3 carseats in it this year.

That's such an interesting spot to put it, I never even considered locating it anywhere but where the factory used to install it....hmm Oh yeah I'm not going anywhere. The dream is to review more kinds of cars and also make these kinds of personal videos too!

Glad to see yours is in, Mine was ordered as a 2023 the same time as yours and reordered as a 2024, Build and shipped 11/15/23 and dealer just sent email that is an hours drive. Hopefully it will get to the dealership next week . So exciting after all the wait. The terrain color looks like you made a good choice,. Awesome. I like the Terrain color alot. I told you in the comments of your last video that I probably woulda gotten that color instead of Area 51 if it was available for 2023. But I like Area 51 alot too. And yeah - I'm glad I got the outside keypad to open the door. I didn't know you could have it added after it was built.

I got my first Ranger from Sanderson way back in 2003. Had it for many years and lots of suspension mods to it unfortunately had to sell it in 2014. After a few other cars and suvs. I got another ranger 2021 tremor. These little trucks weren’t even available until about now even if I ordered it.

Mine came in and went to see it (Lariat) 2.0. After I looked at it; I said let the next person in line have it. IMO NOT worth the $$. It was gone fast so I guess the next person thought it was worth the $$. Good luck with your new Maverick.

I loathe the dealer markup but have to say the Lariat with sunroof, towing, Fx4 and luxury packages is a really nice experience. It brings this discount truck up to standards of a modern vehicle that can basically drive itself and has all the safety features that give me peace of mind. ActiveX leather seats are critical with kids or a dog to just wipe down. The automated rear window is also critical. With such a big backseat I'd have to crawl back there before and just drive with whatever I set it at, then crawl back again at the destination to shut it? That sounds like a lot.

The older model Mavericks have a push gas thing and they SUCK. They never stay closed. You are so lucky to have a handle lock for your gas.

Nice truck! I got a 2022 XL hybrid 2yrs ago and am very happy with it. I ordered a 2023 XLT hybrid, 360, hitch, slider. It got flipped to a 24. It's been "in production" for 2 weeks so maybe I'll get it this year yet.

I'll try to trade the 22 for the 24 one. If they want to steal it I'll sell it privately. It's got 34,000 miles on it so time for a new one. One at a time is enough. I have a Ram that I keep only to pull a large trailer once a month. I plan to build a smaller trailer that the Maverick will pull so I can sell the Ram.

The internal gas release is only on the hybrid. The gas does not have an internal one. I am bummed that they do not have the security keypad. I love the keypad option on my 22. I will be ordering one. I put my bed cargo strap in the back bed cubbie.

Very nice! I love the color. I got my 2023 XLT hybrid in July. As of now I have 700 miles on. It took 10 months to get mine----guess I was one of the lucky ones, and didn't have to wait to long. I don't think I will drive mine in winter, I live in a northern state that uses road salt. But as of now no snow, so I have been driving it. I have another car to drive, and I am retired so if the roads get bad, I can stay home.

I have a 2024 on order (lariat, ecoboost, azure grey, black appearance package) scheduled for the week of 12/18 already pushed back from 11/13. But interesting to know that yours started on a Saturday, I would think production would be a M-F thing. Living on Long Island, good chance it may take a little longer to get to my dealer. Hoping for end of the year to be driving it but based on the timeline in your other video, sounds more realistically like early January (knock on wood). I gotta check out that Shelter Green F-150 color

The prices went up but if you had an old order that got cancelled they have a “private offer” where they compensate you for the bad experience. Between $1,000 and $3,400 depending on what you ordered

My BIL ordered a 2022. He was told at the end of 22 he would get a 2023. He was told at the end of 23 he would get a 2024. I told him his truck probably came in TWICE and the POS dealer probably sold them to someone willing to pay over sticker. !
