out of respect i'm absolutely not (!) going to comment it to spoil for y'all but I'm 99.99% sure ik where you might be getting married bc I've seen the venue before, and when it clicked I realized I literally couldn't have drummed up a place for you. It's going to be so beautiful and I'm so happy for you both! 🕯

It all adds up so quickly and there’s so much pressure from people in the industry! I always kinda wanted to elope and my fiancé now does too after talking to numerous married couples who wish they would’ve eloped. We almost booked one incredible venue that fell through, now we’re gonna hopefully just do a ceremony in St. Louis so the parents/siblings invited don’t have to travel. I just want a short ceremony in a super pretty place for pics then a restaurant reception afterward. We’ve been through many iterations of plans so far and that’s the current one 😂 We’ll all get it figured out eventually lol I swear this process is marriage training. Sending good vibes your way!

Beautiful coastline near your wedding spot! We love Lazy Dog! YES......the menu is huge! You described it well....lol. We love California. My parents grew up near Los Angeles but moved a little further south after they got married. We love Los Angeles and the OC. We couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Weddings prices are insane. My brother is getting married in fall of this year near Temecula (lots of wedding venues there) and holy moly it's so expensive.......and the kicker is they are getting married on a Thursday because "it is cheaper!!" But it's still so pricey. I guess it's a thing now that people get married M-F not just Saturday or Sunday anymore. Then you have to add in the cake.....photographer......DJ. My mom said when she and my dad got married they paid 12.00 a person for a steak lunch in 1988!! Times have really changed for weddings 😅

I hated wedding planning. My mother-in-law did most of it.. and to be honest, I was OK with that because my husband and I had no interest in being involved. Obviously I had a theme I wanted and she would check with me before making decisions. But, if it wasn't for her, we would have been screwed. My wedding ended up being perfect and beautiful and the fairy core dream aesthetic I always wanted. It was just a VERY stressful process to get there.

I wanted to get married at oz farm in Mendocino but ended up getting married at SF city hall partly because of the pandemic and partly because I didn’t want to spend the $$ or deal with the stress of planning a wedding. The pics were great and it was cheap, but I can see why people want to have a wedding.

As someone who used to live in Northern California, just know that you cannot bank on those views. It’s highly dependent on the time of year. So it’s up to you to decide if putting down a tremendous amount of cash will be worth it if it ends up being total pea soup fog on your wedding day. That said, it is absolutely gorgeous there. When it’s not foggy. When I got married I had a huge vision with lots of decisions to be made and a big guest list. Over the course of a year I burned out and completely changed all the plans. I ended finding an amazing cozy French restaurant with the decor I wanted. Velvet curtains, candlelight, crisp white tablecloths. We had filet mignon and salmon. The food was amazing. The only decisions I made were deciding on the menu, centerpieces, invites and favors. And we stripped the guest list down to under 40 people. Only family & close, close friends. And it was amazing. And relaxed. So relaxed! We were able to enjoy everyone there. And then we actually honeymooned up in Mendocino at a place called Brewery Gulch (don’t let the name fool you, it’s amazing!) If you have your heart set on NorCal, (just an idea) I suggest getting married at the San Francisco City Hall which is free and absolutely gorgeous. And then having a small restaurant reception in the City. Or somewhere in Marin. People sleep on restaurant receptions! They have it together! And much less risk of things going wrong.
