Another great performance Doug! The part where you "reveal" how the effect was done, only to then show the five and six is such an amazing touch. Make the audience believe that they know exactly what you are doing, and then do something to make them realize that they actually have no clue what you're doing. Always a great way to take an effect to the next level!

Great trick! Love how he always tries to explain his tricks to you as part of the act. Some dots are not magnetic and never move. The even number side always has 3 dots that never move. This is the original SQUARE spot card which was sold by mail before the "What's Next" according to ads in a Sept.1958 Genii Magazine. The Confusing Die cost $2.50 from Fabjance Studios and NO shipping cost!. Never saw this one on TV but Fred Kaps was the First (I believe) to present "What's Next" on a Nationally televised magic special in the 70's (B4 Henning's star went up).I bought mine from Tannen's soon after and still have it today although I used the newer (Thinner) model the last several years. The time to "move" is AS you expose the covered spots NOT after. That way they're reacting to NEW info throughout the performance...did the trick for 40 years but not according to the instructions which had no built in misdirection.

@@delilahl5934 Thank You for the comment...I do not have a BLOG but my interest in Magic as an entertainment form goes all the way back to 9nth grade mid 70's.A friend and I did camp programs for Teens in trouble in the 70's,High school stage competitions (first places) and I finally went Pro in 96 when I found myself without a REAL job. 13 years at 3 resturaunts fri,Sat,Sun, CiCi's Outback and O'charley's performing walk around magic and those cursed balloon animals..B4 long I'd given 1000's of business cards and worked every venue BUT Trade Shows (I had offers but they would not pay the Dough in Alabama).I'm NOT bragging about my accomplishments but saying that to get work you must first be SEEN and the eateries were a great way in. I'm a READER of books and Magazines and learned slieght of hand from the very beginning. (my first book was Erdnase at 14) I'm a Musician, watercolorist and Magician, and have have only recently posted a few quick Magic videos on youTube as "Magic By Roger" my other activities are under "Roger Weafer On Guitar".Aren't you sorry you asked HA! @@rogerweafer2179 My God, it is a complete waste that you are just some stranger on the internet talking about your passion. Please please please PLEASE SEE SHARE YOUR PASSION WITH THE WORLD AND THESE YOUNGER GENERATIONS! You're obviously not bragging about your accomplishments, it's amazing that you have had such a well-rounded experience with magic, from books, to history, to actual experience! Not a lot of people are lucky enough to have that! Please please please for everything that's good in the world start making videos! And even if you don't know what you're doing at first I'm sure people will be happy to help, not to mention it sounds like you probably are pretty social person and I'm sure you know somebody that might want to start a project like that with you! I think old magic is the most interesting because they had the least amount of technology and did the most with their illusions! Now mind you, I'm literally just artist, I literally know nothing of magic but I really really enjoy watching it! And I enjoy history. I comment to Doug all the time that he needs to start doing more history stuff on his channel because it's a really big trend right now! He always responds....shit. If you start commenting on all of his videos and then maybe direct message him, maybe he'd be interested in you doing some research for him so he could start a history part on his channel. It seems like it's something he's considering. There's always room in the world for people like you with all that knowledge!

ok, I found the trick. When you flip from 2 to 3 and from 3 to 4, you can actually hear the magnet spot slide over into place. Therefore, it appears that each dot on the card is also covered with a matching magnet, so you can slide them around to increase or decrease the number of spots on the card
