Another great performance Doug! The part where you "reveal" how the effect was done, only to then show the five and six is such an amazing touch. Make the audience believe that they know exactly what you are doing, and then do something to make them realize that they actually have no clue what you're doing. Never saw this one on TV but Fred Kaps was the First (I believe) to present "What's Next" on a Nationally televised magic special in the 70's (B4 Henning's star went up).I bought mine from Tannen's soon after and still have it today although I used the newer (Thinner) model the last several years. The time to "move" is AS you expose the covered spots NOT after.That way they're reacting to NEW info throughout the performance...did the trick for 40 years but not according to the instructions which had no built in misdirection.

Thanks for giving this honest tip that we can do this, just by simply the placement of hands and not by increasing the no. of dots.
@RenonTTV3 жыл бұрын
I think it has to do that the dots are stacked and magnetic. Whenever you see him actively dragging his hand across the dice, he's spreading the dots. Also, he could have some hidden in his palms to place down

I wonder if they’re magnetic. He’s definitely moving/adding as he goes along. Perhaps they start off stacked, and he spreads them as he touches different places. The flips immediately before 4, 5, and 6 are telling. But he’s so smooth about it!

He looks at the backside and moves his hand across the surface each time the number of dots on a side switches. I KNOW that has SOMETHING to do with the changing spots but he makes it look so smooth it's damn near impossible to tell just how
@MrVentches3 жыл бұрын
i believe the dots are magnetic and movable,at least some of them,and hidden by stacking them on top of each other. when sliding the hand across he moves some of them. most noticable in the middle of the video,you can barely hear something moving

ok, I found the trick. When you flip from 2 to 3 and from 3 to 4, you can actually hear the magnet spot slide over into place. Therefore, it appears that each dot on the card is also covered with a matching magnet, so you can slide them around to increase or decrease the number of spots on the card
@sawik52 жыл бұрын
Yep, exactly that, the video even has enough detail to see when they are stacked because the dot is thicker.
