Could you please make a new video comparing the new C5 to the Seek ShotPro? Which one would you choose?
@TEquipment4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, we are planning to make a comparison video soon! On the surface, the Seek does have higher IR resolution but lacks other important features like reporting and wireless cloud backup. Seek ShotPro: www.tequipment.net/Seek-Thermal/ShotPRO/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers/ FLIR C5: www.tequipment.net/FLIR/C5/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers/

Hi! I second that! I was going to make the same question. One thing to note is also the possibility to make reports with the Seek application (separate). You can also re adjust pictures, pallets, blends etc. Additionally, I would appreciate if you could tell as a seller if this new rival could drop a bit the prices down on the other Flir models (and maybe Seek) Thanks in advance!

Why don’t you just say buy seek. Longer battery, newer technologies, Sturdier

The resolution on the C3 is certainly outdated. Check out the new FLIR C5 which was just released: www.tequipment.net/FLIR/C5/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers/

What third Party Software could one use to make reports with the SEEK Pro images ?
@TEquipment3 жыл бұрын
The ShotPro lets you do analysis on the camera, in terms of adding points of interest, adjusting span and level, and color palettes. Then, you can export those images over USB to include as a regular image in a word processor. Alternatively, the Seek View app on your phone has a built in report generator. You would connect the ShotPro over Wifi to your phone to work with them. The images exported either way are not radiometric. If you want to get really technical, there is a community of enthusiasts who code for these devices and bypass the Seek UI.

hi, can we use these cameras to see through a candy bar..
@TEquipment3 жыл бұрын
Thermal cameras cannot really "see through" anything - they are only able to measure the surface temperature of solids and liquids and display this visually in a thermal image. So you would be able to see the if parts of the candy bar were hotter or colder than others, but you would not be able to actually see through the bar.

Is it possible to detect leaking pipes inside concrete using the Seek ShotPRO?
@TEquipment4 жыл бұрын
Concrete is much denser than drywall - for this reason, using thermal imaging in this application might not give the results you want. However, you might be able to tell if a certain section of concrete is cooler than others which could indicate moisture beneath. We have several ITC Certified thermal imaging experts on staff who might have more info for you - feel free to call us at (877) 571-7901 with any further questions.

How long with the seek be stuck at this price point in your opinion?
@TEquipment5 жыл бұрын
Based on the fact that it was just released in the last few months, the ShotPRO will likely remain at its current price for some time. That said, $699 for the ShotPRO is a deal considering the 320x240 IR resolution you get - the cheapest FLIR camera on the market with that same resolution is $2,999.

Which thermal camera is best for electronic laptop repair?
@TEquipment4 жыл бұрын
Of these two, you will probably get better results with the ShotPRO due to much higher IR resolution. Also keep an eye out for the new FLIR C5 which was just announced today - it has 160x120 IR resolution and starts under $700.

@@TEquipment Will you be reviewing the C5 and comparing if it can hold up with seek better sensor?
@TEquipment4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! As soon as we get the C5 in stock we will be making a few comparison videos.
@zacronzer4 жыл бұрын
@@TEquipment I actually got the C5 and have been using it quite a bit. Got to say it felt like the sensor is from flir one pro in a C3 body, it's still plastic so even the lanyard included can scratch it. The flir ignite is quite convenient, though you do need to register it and link it first to be able to use the feature.

Dear sir Very informative videos I need your help in choosing thermal camera I am a surgeon and want to assess heat effects of energy devices during surgery The target for the camera would be less than 1meter Temperatures 30- 300 degrees Celsius And I need high resolution for delineation of anatomy Which camera should I buy Regards Gopal gurjar
@TEquipment5 жыл бұрын
There are lots of options out there which fall into the specification range you mention - the Seek ShotPRO is probably one of the most affordable high-resolution IR cameras on the market today which covers your temperature range and features 320x240 resolution. FLIR and Fluke offer IR cameras with higher resolutions but these cameras are much more expensive and cost thousands of dollars so it depends on your budget. How Long is the wifi Range (Seek)?
@TEquipment5 жыл бұрын
WiFi range for live thermal video streaming to a smartphone or tablet running the SeekView App depends on the specific network you are connected to - as long as you have sufficient WiFi signal strength on the ShotPRO, you should not have any distance limitations.

Yes, the Seek ShotPro's hardware is better, but its software sucks, and there is no SDK available for this camera. On the other hand, FLIR's software is excellent, and they have SDKs for this camera and almost all of their products. FLIR offers a better platform and ecosystem than Seek. I don't understand why Seek Thermal does not understand how important software is to the success of their products. They fail to attract a lot of potential customers because of this.
@TEquipment4 жыл бұрын
You just hit on one of the biggest selling points for FLIR in any Seek/FLIR comparison. Seek has been improving and the ShotPRO is the company's most robust offering yet with the launch of the SeekView app, but FLIR still has a clear advantage when it comes to ecosystem and software.

Battery life? Change battery in 3 years when just 20% battery funktion left? 699:- for 2-3 years thats expensive. Well no one talks about the battery if you can change it. Its still an hobby item .
@TEquipment5 жыл бұрын
Battery operating times after a full charge are: 4 hours on Seek ShotPRO, 2 hours on FLIR C3. Can't comment on battery degradation over time for either of these units as we have not had long-term experience with any single unit. If you are worried about this, you should look more towards a professional IR camera with a removable battery - check out FLIR's entry-level unit, the E4: www.tequipment.net/FLIR/E4-WiFi/

hmm you jump over all the vitals that would matter for the majority buying this, let's be frank this is mainly for the consumer market and one thing that is more vital than anything on the consumer market is very wide use cases as people would have a million different circumstances to use this for. so the things that matter imo' is too incorporate as many so-called use-cases as possible and it can deliver a result under different circumstances, -and here both products completely fall short, as they have restricted the main aspect of a thermal cam with a locked focus that makes "distances" extremely limited. The 3 most important things imo' in a thermal-cam for the avarage main-consumer is: Thermal resolution. Adjustable focus. (so you can go fare like 300 meters and you can go narrow, and close like with macro ) Framerate for live-view and record video and likewise' and you can actually see things unfold while viewing the screen fx live current powerthat move on a board-circuits and SMD components etc and also see which part of a CPU die that are being centered, and likewise in some tasks, like some of the videos i posted.. I also got a Seek..though it's a somewhat older one, that I purchased some years ago for 300 USD that was sold as new. Its the Seek Pro FF (fast frame) version for iOS I didn't had an iOS device so after getting this litle thermal cam' I needed to also purchase an Ipad 2018 (did that and I was pleasantly surprised with the new tablet-product you can get for relatively little money 300 euro) anywhere been happy with my Seek pro FF sofar, and IM getting these results. kzbin.info/door/TJtb7oyUVo0CVfd0RQ5rswvideos Impresive the resolution with resistors at 1.25mm kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn-qkp-jbbt5mLM and the cursor accuracy is surprisingly accurate and down to a fraction of a mm. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHynpqF_rdmAh80 I'm getting around 17 to 20fps on video, but you cant neglect how important the adjustable focus are for different use-cases and its sad Seek have removed the adjustable focus-dial as its the same sensor as in mine.. but at 300 USD I grapped mine for. I'm very satisfied with the product and looking to take the next step to VGA as the 384x288 (110k) sensor-products out there' is more or less around the same ballpark as Seek pro (78k) in the result you can deliver' but the price jump is significant for VGA res +1500USD. but god damn fascinating the world of thermal and you easily become addicted if you also fascinated with the science behind it and not least how these microbolometers work. One feature I really cherise on the Seek pro is the looking feature and you can lock an given temperature-span and tacle some of the biggest weakness on Seeks lineup hence "noise" .i.imgur.com/n6qpZUz.mp4 and ofcourse thx for the above video Devon of this new Seek shot..
@TheEtbetween5 жыл бұрын
What you taking about I have both and seek have video, and picture , it depend on it’s use. You don’t need focus if you measuring a car engine electrical outlet, circuit breaker,circuit board; etc...
@JAKOB19774 жыл бұрын
@@TheEtbetween that you don't need focus for the few things you do.. are really not that relevant, but most people do need focus and higher framerate to make their thermal camera relevant in many circumstances... while still maintaining a focus under numerous situations...you can bet that is also why Seek did make the Seek Pro with manual focus and also made a high framerate version. You can see here how many different situation is performs under while being able to keep a decent focus.. kzbin.info/door/TJtb7oyUVo0CVfd0RQ5rswvideos?view_as=subscriber and the higher framerate is vital for "live view", with fx cirquits and when recording videos. so yeah it doesnt take a phd to conclude that it is a shame that Seek removed the manual focus and the higher framerate version on this new lineup when it is the same 320x240 sensor they have in play, (pro version) with manual focus on Seek Pro, you literally have from 15cm to 500m and don't need to rely on some fixed middle ground in between.
