It has seen better days. Much like the wear upon the shield, the Seat of the Sun is long faded away" So perhaps it could reference Enir Elim before the land of shadow was hidden away from the mainland, since Enir Ilim is eternally sunny. The Crucible Knight armor also kinda looks like it has a sun with tree roots on the chestplate

Two of them, Garrew and Edreed, have exactly one extra Crucible attack each (wings for Edreed, the infamous unobtainable tongue for Garrew) and apparently that was enough for them to deserve a healthbar.

The Crucible IS the Erdtree after it became infused with Grace. Forget the specific item but one item description directly refers to it as the primordial form of the Erdtree.

So it BECOMES a Tree which implies it WASNT a tree before the Golden Order. Given item descrip saying Elden Beast was a falling star many believe the Crucible was a Sun, hence why Enir Illim is reaching towards the heavens. Gate of Divinity likely viewed the Star directly I'd imagine

Not much to wonder really, the Crucible is an amalgamation of ancient life. Bloom, just like Breath, Tail, and Horn, is just one of the aspects of that original Crucible that presumably eventually became distilled into modern life in the form of Miranda flowers.

it would be really cool if her centaur model had some fish or amphibian traits to it considering her name is Devonia, which is based off Devonian. (the time period when fish started to become extremely abundant and amphibians first evolved). But Ordovis doesn't have arthropod traits and Siluria doesn't have any plant traits, so it wouldn't really be in line with the other knights.

Devoni's lore and item descriptions actually kind of flip what we knew of the crucible knights on their head. In the base game, it was mostly assumed that Crucible knights were guardians of the Crucible and after it became the Erdtree, Godfrey took them in as his own knights despite them being shunned in the lands between for their relation to the Crucible. Rather instead with this dlc, it appears that they were originally knights of the lands between who intentionally chose to learn Crucible incantations, becoming disliked by the public as a result. And one member, Devonia, chose to seek out the shadowland to understand the Crucible and its incantations more deeply.

Devonia is a reference to the Devonian period, like with the other named crucible knights. The Centaur bit reminds me of the golden hippo tough it has one extra pair of legs. In general I think they were inspired by the idea of having a single mysterious and confusing crucible that was the origin of all life. I wouldn't overthink it.

You know, with all these special characters unmentioned nor otherwise hinted at in the basegame lore, they all seem like fan OCs. Take, for example, Rellana. Her name is a slightly altered version of Rennala’s, she has a moveset heavily inspired by that of Sulyvahn, including his swords, has access to a previously unknown version of the Moon, loves a ginger as well and of course, her whole thing with being Rennala’s (probably) twin sister that came out of nowhere. It’s hilarious. And of course, then there’s Devonia. If I remember correctly, Crucible Knights are stated to have been 16 in number, yet here she is! She doesn’t use a sword and shield or a spear like other CKs, no, she is special, so she gets a hammer.
