What a wonderful explanation of Islam. Eventually I will study the Quran today more rigorous manner. However, as it stands there is many beautiful parallels going on with his explanation to the religious expressions of the Holy Bible. The Torah is Law, although, it is a liberating covenant. For some who don't fully understand the Law's purpose we'll see this as a paradox. For them they are missing out on a greater Unity. Jesus summed up entire Torah with the two commandments, Love God and Love thy neighbor. The neighbor is not just somebody in your own tribe or group. Please correct me if I am wrong about the Torah Zevi. I've actually been trying to understand Jihad better as well. I tried to articulate how it really is about the spiritual 'struggle'. Your guest articulated it beautifully. ❤️

Zev, you weren't the only one. He expresses what I have tried to tell some of my evangelical friends. They are idolatrous out of misunderstanding our duty to make Peace not War even to deny the Will of Allah is to make peace for all. My heart is joyful for the beauty of your hearts you shared about Jihad as a state of raising our vibrations high enough to directly experience the perfect Love form which we all arose from.

I fear we are degenerating into a consumerist culture and without something more substantial to be part of, fear and hate is what we produce and consume. But I think what we truly crave is wholeness, a centre and ultimately Peace. I believe there are many roads to achieve this, and it doesn't matter where you start. But this is good place to begin. Thanks for showing us the story behind headlines Zevi.

God made men guardians of women because they spend on them. If they don't spend money on their family then they are sinful while women are exempted from such responsibility religiously. That is, it is not their duty to earn money and spend on family. If they do then men are taking charity from them (Hadith). Yes, they can work, they can be doctors, nurses, teachers, polititions etc. But religiously they are not obliged to feed their families. So, if they earn money then they too are guardian of the family.
@rizwankausar6741
@rizwankausar6741 2 жыл бұрын
The verse gives two reasons why man has been made the head of the family: (a) his superior mental and physical powers; (b) his being bread-earner and maintainer of the family. It is natural and fair that he who earns and supplies the money should have the final say in the disposal of affairs. The word قانتات (obedient) spoken of wives may mean either obedient to God, or to husbands. The expression, guard the secrets of their husbands, means that when the husbands are at home, they are obedient to them and guard their secrets; and when they are away, they not only guard their secrets but take care of their property and guard their own chastity. The clause, leave them alone in their beds, may mean: (a) abstention from conjugal relations with them; (b) sleeping in separate beds; or (c) ceasing to talk to them. The use of the word "beds" also incidentally implies that the disobedient wives are to stay at home and are not to be allowed to leave or be turned out of their homes. The measures mentioned in the verse are not to remain in force for an indefinite period, for wives are not to be left like a thing suspended (4:130). Four months, according to the Quran, is the utmost limit for abstention from conjugal relations, i.e. for practical separation (2:227). If the husband deems the affair to be sufficiently grave, he will have to observe the conditions mentioned in 4:16. Regarding "chastisement" mentioned as a last resort in the verse under comment a Companion reports the Holy Prophet to have said that if at all a Muslim has to beat his wife, the beating should not be such as to leave any mark on her body (Tirmidhi, ch. on Rida‘). According to Abu Dawud and Nasa’i, the Holy Prophet forbade the beating of women at all, but when ‘Umar complained that they had become refractory, he gave the permission with the aforementioned condition; but on complaint of ill-treatment of women by their husbands he indignantly said that the husbands who beat their wives were not the best among men (Kathir, iii). On another occasion the Holy Prophet is reported to have said: "The best among you is he who treats his wife best and I am the best of you in this respect" (Tirmidhi). The Divine attributes of "High and Great" mentioned at the end of the verse are also intended to warn husbands that the chastisement of their wives, if at all resorted to should not be unjust or vindictive or highhanded; for if they are high and great above their wives, there is One Who is High and Great above all and He shall call husbands to account for any improper use of the qualified authority given to them over their wives.

Thank you for taking the time to elaborate. I was lucky enough to get another interpretation. I was explained by a Sufi Muslim, that the theory that the man has the final say in disposal of affairs because he is the bread-earner, is once again inadequate to an extent. We shall exclude the free interpretation given by those for who religion exists as a dull habit, but rather look at the most exalted spiritually, whose religious experience testifies of having a direct connection with the Divine. In Islam , that being the Prophet Mohammed, set an example and as you have mentioned, he said, the best among you is he who treats his wife the best. Meaning, it is impossible to later say something contradictory that would justify the use of violence under any circumstances, or by ‘striking lightly without leaving any mark on the woman’s body’. Furthermore, by the way he lived his life and treated his wives set the perfect example. Apparently, in Sufism exists a theory that the All knowing God, knows existing things and also non existing things, known as Ayan Thabitha (I apologize for the wrong spelling) Such as ideas, human coding, or the future for example. Meaning, the guidelines given by Prophets should be applicable in past and future societies where the role of the women would have been changed. As I was explained , the problem lies in the wrong translation of the word which is most often translated as ‘strike lightly’, and in Sufism means ‘to set an example’ , not in a violent way by any means, and it can be only understood by native Arabic speakers. Great worlds and nations are hidden in Arabic words and letters, likewise in Hebrew language and they deserve special devotion while trying to understand them.

Finally, maybe as humans we are deliberately left with a certain degree of freedom to interpret scripture, and by choosing to do good deeds, in a way, become an active participant in fixing what has been broken/ or complete what hasn’t been completed in the process of creation, and by that, becoming the best of men.

@@simona7303 The Holy Prophet (saw) said, women are like rib, its beauty is in its crookedness (bent) if you will straighten it you will break it. That is women are like rib cage to us. As ribs protect our delicate and major organs in the same way our women, mothers, wives protect us from dangers of world, from unchastity. If we become strict with them because of their habit of arguing we will break them we will cause damage to their hearts and psychy. So, their beauty is in their crookedness. Nushooz is the only thing mentioned in this Verse which is to be addressed in three steps. Advising them, not sleeping with them and then comes striking. Now, what is Nushooz, it means if your wife is cheating on you. What will be your (man's) reaction? It happens that many men kill their wives, many physically abuse them and torchure them or they will divorce them. But Quran has stopped this violence by saying advise them. Which means control your anger and don't beat her which could be the first reaction. When you advise someone you pray for her/him too. It means you love her and don't want to divorce either. If her Nushooz continues then don't sleep with her. Actually man is punishing himself here. Because she is already cheating on him. If she still continues with Nushooz then only you can strike slightly. Actually all these steps are to prevent women from being beaten. Because no man will like to stay with his wife who cheats on him.

The best way to argue is to bring up the problem and then ask and suggest. The vid deals with war ok but, what about the misogyny? Chapter 4, verse 34: Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by Allah over women and tasked with supporting them financially. And righteous women are devoutly obedient and, when alone, protective of what Allah has entrusted them with. 1 And if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺, ˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds,˹but if they still persist,˺then discipline them ˹gently˺. Didn't the last Prophet's wife make the $$? This verse doesn't seem to fir. But, there it is and it can be fix like i do in the Christian text; replace "men" with "masculine aspect" and "wife" with "feminine aspect". Then we can all be persons, with our internal husband and wife. ... Hey, that works with the driving fumction(masculine)/transfer function(feminine) dynamic; cool.

It is God that runs World with wisdom and truth...nowhere in quran is there a prediction of a messiah, in fact quran gives the testimony that Jesus would tell God that he was a witness over them until God gave him death , it never says that he returned as a messiah in Muslim form....this is bullshit from hadiths that is not part of God's revelation...read quran and tell others to read quran...quran is from God , that is the only book of guidance you have from God so dont cover up the truth with trying to explain quran with you long tafseers or hadiths ot books of ghulam ahmad

@@akangmalik quran is from God and so is torah and psalms and gospel...hadiths of Muhammad are from men who let thinking overrule revelation, the same way mirza ghulam ahmad was passionate to revive Islamic world and he thought prayers were the answer to everything and he was wrong ...Islamic world fell when it stopped worshipping God alone and made Muhammad a partner of God , hadiths contradict quran and are a way for sinners to deny the commandments of God who empowers people , hadiths over power people and try to control people and this is same thing you people in ahamadiyyah community do...here are some signs of truth from quran ...1. Holy land of Jerusalem will be inherited by the righteous ...and in respect to God's word , that land in now in hands of children of isreal who do not make partners with God...2. Allah says in quran that He will take the works of the wicked and give it ti His righteous servants, and you know most of the works of ahmadees including creation of pakistan was given to others who were not ahmadees...3...Allah promises increase to people who are grateful , but jamaat ahmadiyyah is led away from thanking God to instead doing dua all the time and if you think that your duas will overrule God's word then your sadly misled and mistaken ...praise and glory is to God who created this world with wisdom , He made commandments of quran upon all men. There is no new commandment given to mirza ghulam ahmad so Allah's law is still to be lived by , but if you don't agree to follow quran then look at people who deny God's signs, and you don't have to look far, your own community has been labeled as kafirs.... Ahmadi Muslims are a Jama’at which means A COMMUNITY. Why is that? We have a God, the only One, Allāh; we have a Prophet, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and we have a Book, the Holy Quran and follow the Mahdi and Messiah who was prophesied to come in the later days when nothing will be left of Quran apart from the text, nothing left of Islām apart from the name and mosques will be full of people but with no true guidance and finally the religious leaders will be the worse creation under the canopy of heavens. That’s why we have an spiritual leader who is Khalifatul Masih and are united under his hands. Fir your information, the Promised Messiah (as) invited Queen Victoria to Islam and told her not to worship a human ( as Christian people do) and stopped the Christian missionaries who were converting Muslims in India into Christianity. He defended true Islam like no other and nobody could match him and he defeated every single opponent with the Grace of Allāh!
