Seeking Krishna

'Seeking Krishna' is a short documentary for Level 2 Video production module for the Communications and Media Studies degree at Brunel University.
The contributor, Jurgita Putriute, now known as Yugala Priti Devi Dasi, is a Lithuanian Hare Krishna devotee. This documentary explores Jurgita's story from being a student at Middlesex University to joining the International Society For Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
This was a group project consisting of 4 members in total. My role in the making of this documentary involved producing, co-directing and co-editing.
'Seeking Krishna' was filmed at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna temple in Watford. We thank all members at the temple and worshippers for allowing us to film this documentary.

I love Hare Krishna people very calm, cool and collective. They distribute free food on the streets of London to help homeless and those who are financially struggling. It’s less like a religious movement more of a self realisation movement to make you realise to connect yourself with God. They say Krishna is called Yhwh, Jehovah, Allah etc so, he’s the same God of the Jews, Christians and Muslims. We discriminate God in the name of God which is wrong if we’ve all had the understanding of our consciousness we will be less discriminating and more accepting.

It is good sister that you have started spirituality at an young age . One thing I want to say that your mother is not against spirituality, as she told you can do more good to people if you get a grad,she is absolutely right. No one knows what will happen next . Prabhupada always told to chanting krishna name is always a priority . Material life is secondary thing for devotess . People don't progress in their Spritual life if they didn't have association of devotess . Material knowledge is now a atheist influenced study . First improve urself and become self controlled and enlighten then focus on changing others . What she doing is completely good . I studied Hare Krishna philosophy but I am not a devotee and I still abuse sometimes and got distracted many times from Krishna . I can't change anyone life with my material study if my my own mind is not in my control but my parents didn't understand this and I am completing my material education now . Due to association with material people I don't feel happy and I think I am becoming more material than sprituality . I don't want people to suffer with this type of education system . I think if devotess want to go to college then they should firstly practice krishna consciousness then go to college later by having association with devotess . Our souls lack Krishna consciousness from innumerable birth and rebirth not some atheist manipulated material education . No one knows when u r going to die . Don't be lazy and just put ur desires before krishna . Desires are going to change in every few day don't put BHAKTI as granted . First focus on ursrlf internally then try to help other . If u r not a devotee and want other to come in krishna consciousness then u can't be successful .

The teachings, scriptures that Hare Krishna people practice are thousands of years old authenticated by many lineages of teachers, Gurus etc. They are not inventing anything new. So Hare Krishna movement is authentic and its followers are true devotees.
