It's obvious that the plantiff was smitten with the defendant so much that he loaned him the money. But the judge confused me with his ruling because I've seen him allowed tape recorded messages that were unbeknownst to the OP in his courtroom before plenty of times. So idk what made him switch up here.

JM was looking to give this case away to the defendant for some reason, he was badgering the plaintiff the whole case then tried to give a statement supporting him being gay. JM first tried to to give it away saying if the mother didn’t say 100% she supported him in being right about the money then tried with the did she give permission and he even had a statement saying he could use the tape……..with all that said it didn’t even matter if she knew before or after because Alabama state law is only a one party state which means she doesn’t have to know he’s recording her or get permission. JM got this case WRONG! 🤨🤷🏽♂️

It all depends on the state that you are in while recording….. he was in the state of Alabama which is a 1 party consent state meaning only one party involved in the conversation has to consent to the recording…. This means that he was well within the law to record that conversation without her knowing that he was recording…… also meaning he had no burden to proof that she knew he was recording in court that day….. Judge Mathis really fumbled this one!!!

It depends on what state they’re in for the recording to be used as proof. If it’s a one party state, than the recording is admissible. If it’s a two party state, the recording is inadmissible; therefore it can’t be used as evidence.

I met the defendant Jeffrey when I was in college years ago. he lived an hour and a half from my college town. he hit me up online and we chatted. I met him once. he seemed like an okay guy and I thought he was really handsome. we chatted a bit and only met once. he was a tad bit flaky so it didn't go anywhere. the plaintiff I met in passing at a party someone I knew threw.

the gag is I know two other gay guys from that time in college who were on Judge Judy and one of them was a scammer and thief. the plantiff, defendent and these two I just referenced above were mutual friends on Facebook 😂😂😂
