I'm going to say it. There seems to be a rash of whiners, nitpicking, and complaining about Luke's videos. I've watched them for years, and have no issues. He does what works best for him. He doesn't say, "My way is the only way". If you don't like something, or the way he does something, don't do it. Do it your way. If this channel doesn't suit you, don't watch it. Maybe a fresh diaper, a tissue, and maybe the Barbie channel would work better for you. Luke, your REAL viewers and supporters have got your back brother! Keep on keepin' on!

Hey, I don’t understand some of these comments. I love the “competent and no drama” approach to Luke’s camping and channel. I like his “style” of camping. When I was a kid, and started camping without my parents for the first times, I was just busy setting up camp and all my hi school buddies were blown away because they knew NOTHING about the work involved, and I was just moving from one job to another, as they were doing the kid thing (like here) of standing around figuring out, bickering constantly and wasting a lot of time while I gave up and just got into the work. One thing I have gotten from this (and a couple other) channels I started watching just a year ago, is the GREAT usefulness of learning how to hang a tarp. I’m used to digging little trenches, spending more time stressing over the ground and level sleeping areas, stuff like that. Of course great campers use tarps for overhead protection, but I just never saw many in CA doing those techniques. Now that I’m retired and full-time in a van traveling and out of the van in tents camping in the forests I love and so many new areas I never visited, I’m going to learn how to make the shelter area more useful, larger, all that. Thanks Luke, great channel, good testing opinions, and fun to watch!

Just a tip but when you use a stick to hold up a tarp in the middle, take a tennis ball and cut a X slit in it and insert the ball on the tip of stick and it protects the tarp from from ripping.

When I was in the UK six years ago I was in the same situation as you, but with bangers and mash. And my reaction was, "where have you been all my life?" The sausage gravy and biscuts is an Southern American dish. I grew up with it. But if you go to the Northern states, they look at you as if you lost your mind.😮 One Scottish dish I love is Black Pudding.

Biscuits and sausage gravy like SOS is an American icon, some folks outside the US have no idea what they're missing. I've watched the Japanese campers use those wire mesh fire pits for years, surprisingly they hold a lot of weight and retain the ash for easy clean up which is mandatory in Japan. Luke you’ve finally touched on a subject I’m obsessed with: mosquitoes. I won’t say I’m an expert, but I’ve done tons of real world research and experiments. I’m also interested in natural remedies so I’ve tried a few! Firstly, permethrin is great. It’s similar to the stuff Mosquito Joe and companies like that use. I regularly spay around my house. But the best thing near your house is the long game with Tekko insecticide. Anyone interested can Google the details but basically you make breeding traps with old cartons. It works a step ahead as it interrupts their ability to breed. As for sprays and such on the go I’ve had some success with the all natural doterra TerraShield in mild mosquito conditions. Heavy conditions though forget it. Better though is the natural-ish Ranger Ready. I also carry the classic Cutter for when the bugs are just out of control.
