I got my first and only axis 2 years ago. Tastiest wild game I’ve had yet. There’s more running around near the property I hunt, but out of 15 years of hunting there, I’ve seen them only set foot on it twice

My grandparents told me that the meat of the axis deer is soo good that they used to store it in dried form to use year round... It was long back ago in 1960swhen hunting was not a big deal in india

Says ohio...ohio native here never heard of it. Says it was free range, doesn't mean it wasn't but...that'd be the 3rd largest buck taken in the state...a friend of mine holds the 7th at 254 1/8, the number 2 whitetail in the state was 295 3/8 taken by Jonathan Schmucker in 2006 killed with a crossbow, 2nd to the Greene County giant Michael Beatty buck at 304 6/8 killed with a compound ..this 290 would make at the very least every paper in the state!

A buck that big today would be officially scored and in the state paper/news and likely registered and mount at contests cause probably the biggest deer taken that year anywhere? The rack looks like unnatural high fence deer but maybe it is true and he just doesn’t roll with the whole official scoring and stuff. Idk

As much as I love this channel, I hate to say it but I wish you guys would’ve never showed the world what lives in Atlanta… because as a long time bowhunter in Atlanta I can honestly say I get excited to see a 3 or 4 year old deer now days. Literally hundreds of bowhunters have Moved there hunting into Atlanta and every single one of them are shooting 140” 3 year olds that could be 170+ if they would let them get atleast 5. About half of the doors I knock on now days already have hunters hunting them
