Thanks for this video. I noticed they offer this nib as an upgrade for that new Esterbrook Ebonite pen and I was intrigued. I’m glad to learn more about this nib.

Have a lot of journaler nibs, also scribe and techo nibs. Use 14/18kt nibs in many esties too. Really loe the journaler best! 17:26

I have a journaler’s nib in my Esterbrook Rocky Top. It was first Esterbrook pen and I love it. I just recently pur the Esterbrook Scribe nib and I’m looking forward to trying it out. Like you I also on the Esterbrook Estie in Seaglass and will put the scribe nib on it. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the SF pen show.

Thanks so much! I hope I won't be too overwhelmed at the show. I hope to be able to test the Scribe nib at the show. Would be a lot of fun! Hope you'll make a video, I'd love to hear your opinion!

I only have one custom nib: a broad Jowo 6 cursive italic ground by Kirk Speer. I put it on my Amber Opus 88 Jazz. It looks amazing and is such a smooth and fun writer. After watching your video, I’ve set my sights on acquiring a journaler nib.

@@Tamara-pens Nah, ordered it straight from Esterbrook. Got here in two days!

@@cerealnana thanks will have to look into that. Quite fancy the nib but not necessarily another pen body.

@@cerealnana were there any extra import taxes on top of the nib and shipping?

Finally getting the chance to watch the video. How many Esties do you have now? 3? I always forget what the journaler nib is, but I think I'll not forget anymore. It did look good with Serenity Blue. If you rotate inward, you might find a left oblique really helps you. I do love that Seaglass. Now just have to check out the Techo nib??? and I'll finally be caught up.

I like the sharper edge of the journaler nib. Describing it like a medium stub nib? Is that a thing? 🤔 It is a great writer! I want more esties, and I want more custom nibs!
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
Did I really say that? I tried to find it just now, but I can't. Would you be able to point me to the minute? Regardless, if you look on the Esterbrook page for the Journaler, this is how it is described: "medium stub grind" - so I guess it's not wrong. I absolutely agree on the more Esties and more custom nib movement. LOL. Bring them on.
@holyfirescribble Жыл бұрын
@@seemownay lol, no! I don't think you said it, but that's how I described it in the comment!

Yes, I can see that - I really enjoy the nib!

The journaler nib looks so good with your handwriting. It looks and feels much like a standard round nib to me, but I have had mine for 1.5 days so what do I know 😂 I would love to know how similar or different it is in comparison to a FC sig nib!
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
It's not so vastly different than a 1.1 or 1.5 stub, but I can see the edges on the lines. They are not all the same width and that's exactly what I'm looking for. A bit of variation, but not that much that I have to be super precise or that the writing feels laborious.
@NotesFromPastAmy Жыл бұрын
@@seemownay Interesting. I didn't feel that it was similar to a stub, but to a regular round tipped nib. I compared my writing before the grind to after and there is a difference to the horizontal strokes but I struggle to see it with my writing. I'm thinking I need to write in a different style to see it more...? I'm not sure, but, at the moment, it is my least favorite custom grind. 😣

Which nib arecyou referring to when you sat SIG nib?
@seemownay11 ай бұрын
A nib ground by Audrey Matteson and offered through Franklin-Christoph. It’s a Stub Italic Gradient nib hence called SIG.

Do you like the Journaler or Techo nib better for the Estie?
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
That's are really tough question. Both nibs are so different - and I have used the Techo more as a sketching pen. I really want to use and try the Techo with colored ink just like I use all my other pens for journaling and letter writing. I really can't say I like one over the other.

Disregard, stub italic grind. I actually have some lotus nis grous t a cursive italic. Writes like journaler does
