Sam, Ive been watching your channel and podcast for years, but I drifted away from the content a couple years back. The reasoning is, as you described on the podcast, the feeling of chasing KZbin's algorithm. However, over the last six months your content has became next level and almost addictive. Brilliant work and I'm excited for your next adventure!

Sam, those are Alpine Marmots at 9:00 - related to various marmots, (aka gophers/groundhogs, too, in parts of the US) in open habitats around the world (alpine, grassland, and tundra). Thanks for sharing a lovely morning!!

Loving the content on this channel in combination with the podcasts. They’re both evolving into something that is a big part of my routines. You don’t waste my time, and whilst I recognise this is your business that needs ads etc I don’t feel like it’s a sales pitch all the time like some KZbinrs. I think you’ve struck the perfect balance. I don’t want to criticise other KZbinrs but TGE nowadays is almost comical with the level of ads and sponsors it makes me feel like I’m watching a contestant ad. This is the honest and entertaining automotive content I really enjoy! So thanks!

Beautiful video! I love this place! I remember coming here when I was 10 years old. The top of the road was covered with snow even in August, and the Glacier ran all the way down. It's kinda sad to see how little of it is left, but what can you do. I can attest that during daytime the road can be really busy, so it's best to go up really early or really late for the sunset.

You're rapidly becoming one of my favourite carchannels man. Besides the obviously incredible productionvalue, the great cars and drives, there's something else about your videos. Something that breaaathes and ooooozes car-enthusiast, something that I recognize my own inner-child in, my own car-fanatic. Watching your videos always makes me want to get into my car and drive, and that's the core of what a carvideo really should be about I think. Keep it up!

Thank you so much Sam. We were in Salzburg a few years ago in May and this was on our itinerary but it was still closed due to snow. Thankfully the website has a live feed and tells you if it's likely to be closed or open for the day so we were spared a wasted journey. However, I was bitterly disappointed to have missed out and now... well I'm in two minds. I've now seen what we missed (so thank you) but am also more determined than ever to get back to see it again!!!

We drove over the pass in 2005 in our S Type, it was busy so we chilled and enjoyed the scenery. The previous few days we had spent in Zel um Sea, and it was Strum season, a few very very merry locals suggested we order it instead of a beer. It is only available for a few weeks, it is served in half pint glasses, tastes like lemonade and and after 1 we were very very merry, after 3 well I can't remember much other than the whole town square full of happy drunks. We were booked in for 3 nights at Chalet - Hotel Senger in Heiligenblut with plans to go on to Graz then Vienna but my daughter got knocked down back in Scotland as in a phone call "you don't have to come home but E got knocked into a garden by a car that mounted the pavement ( a kid just passed his test drove at other kids as a laugh and slammed his brakes on.....only tofindcars skid in the wet)". We had to wait until the pass opened but we were 2nd in line at the toll booth and it was anything but a relaxed drive, the start of a 1250 mile journey back to the UK non stop other than a 4 hour wait at the tunnel - not a complaint, it was not our scheduled return date and they gave us 1st available slot. Alpine pass, Unrestricted autobahns and open French motorway then turned into roadworks from Ashfield all the way round the M25. Had to force my wife to stop on motorway near Birmingham at 3am then had to stop myself at 4am to sleep only for my wife to moan at me when she found me sleeping at wheel in service station car park, a quick coffee and then on road. Back at 7am in Scotland. My daughter was fine. He'll of a drive Great video, love the car and love your enthusiasm for the F Type. If I did not need 4 seats for days out with grandkids I would have bought one, still the P300 XE was a good practical choice. If I remember on the way up we saw a giant furry stuffed beaver thing. We also saw the local motorbike gang with the stuffed beaver as it's badge on the back of their jackets, a friendly lot they were....mind you if they were on Strum then they could be nothing else

Having been there the last 3 summers with my SLK, this video, as good as it is (and it is very good) doesn't do it justice. I agree with you, you really have to go there yourself. On a small note: the Edelweißspitze is actually the highest point at 2500+ meters and the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (the place next to the glacier) is slightly lower at 2300+ meters.
