I love the story of kaab ibn malik. I first heard it from imam Anwar Awlaki. I also love Abu Dharr. I want to ask.... How is possible that people would have so much knowledge and they are Americans. Are there institutions in america that raise Muslim scholars?

Hello, I'm new to Islam and have a question with regards to the notion in Islamic etiquette to emphasize the good, and admit but skip over negative incidents. For instances, times when sahaba fall into a mistake etc. As a new muslim researching the history of my faith, what is the guide I should use when doing research? If I get to a period or incident that is controversial, is it better to just get the conclusion and skip on until I have a better understanding of the deen and then return to these tricky topics with more understanding? Or is it beneficial to learn from the lessons in history in a natural way as many incidents influence each other in terms of setting precedence within early Islam. I would be grateful for any opinions.

Bro what did u mean by negative incidents ?Sins committed at the tym of ignorance.Once a person accepts islam all his or her sins r forgiven. Its always better to ask Allah forgiveness n protection and hide ones sins committed prior to acceptance of islam from people bcos its always good not to share something bad .Allah forgives the sins which one hides from people.May Allah forgive n guide us all to the way that leads to paradise n protect us from Satan the accursed.
