@seerasan Have you seen the movie Perfect Days (2023)? It's about a janitor that cleans these public toilets and has some of the toilets covered in your video in the movie. It's an awesome movie, 8.9 IMDb & 96% Rotten Tomatoes. Give it a watch, I think you'll like it.

I really appreciate a nice toilet. So many countries don’t invest in them and they end up vandalised or closing them down. It should be something everywhere invests in! It makes it so much nicer to be out in the city knowing there are nice toilets available if you need them
@ThekidisalrightАй бұрын
Fun fact: the movie “Perfect Days” was supposed to be a documentary about the toilet project, commissioned by the Japanese government, but after the director dived deep in the research he feel that making it into a movie would reach a wider audience as well as pay better tribute to the hard working cleaners. 😊

It's not crazy, I'm in my second trip to Japan right now and I literally went to Yoyogi park just to see the trabsparent toilet. It is amazing! Nice to know there is an entire project dedicated to innovative and stylish toilets in Japan. That's something sooo japanese haha!

It's rare to find a video where it's fun to read each comment. From a Japanese perspective, it is interesting to see what people from other countries thought. コメントを一つ一つ見るのも楽しい動画ってめったにない。 日本人からすると、外国の人達がどう思ったか、興味深いです。

This is so freaking cool... I'm definitely interested in seeing more of these public bathrooms or other architecture! I'm in awe of how aesthetic and clean they are. The wood bathroom at the end is so stunning. I'm a plant enthusiast so I love that you mentioned the types of wood used in it! Yoshino cedar is just a type of cedar tree local to Yoshino. Cedar has some antimicrobial properties and a nice scent so maybe that's why they used it? A lot of saunas use cedar! I've never heard of zelkova but google says it's really sturdy and also popular for bonsai, so that's pretty cool. Anyhooooo thanks for this vid, it was super interesting! 🚽✨

Also, anyone who enjoys the soundtrack probably has good taste in music. Anyone who can't find a song they like in the soundtrack needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask themselves where their life went wrong.

I'm Japanese, and recently I've found something convenient about toilets.These are toilets in movie theaters, hotels and motorway service stations.At the entrance to public restrooms there is a panel with a map of the restrooms.The panel will show you which private rooms are in use. This means you don't have to knock and you won't be knocked.

Great video, I’m always appreciative of the public toilets in Japan, they are everywhere and usually very clean. The public toilets in Australia are embarrassing, always filthy and hard to find.
@qtdcanadaАй бұрын
I would venture a guess: even if other world-leading cities built similar toilets as those in Tokyo, they will (very) quickly become dirty, stinky and gross! This is because there are other factors contributing to the 'top quality' of Tokyo's public toilets: the toilet users and cleaners. Japanese attitude about bathroom hygiene is top tiered, people will do their part to keep the facility clean/tidy. Cleaners, like (most) people working at their jobs (whatever it is) will focus and try to do their jobs well.

Vow..I always wanted to know about the toilets in Japan. Thanks for sharing. I am actually planning to visit during Autumn 2025. The public toilets here in the US suck big time. Never smell good. I visited Sydney on a business trip a few years back and stayed on Pitts street but could not find a public toilet. But Sydney or Brisbane downtowns are very very clean when compared to any downtowns in the US. Looking forward to visit the voice activated toilet. Does it accept just Japanese and English or other languages?

The transparent toilets are cool until someone drunk forgets to lock the doors before using them. Don't remember who, but another youtuber saw that happen while doing a video on those toilets. 😆edit: Had to look it up, it was Aki. Haven't seen the other ones before but they all had really cool designs, can't really pick any favorite among them.
