I Fought The Elden Lord (One Idiot VS Godfrey)

My goal is to become the next Elden Lord in my Elden Ring conquest.. But before me stands Godfrey, The First Elden Lord. Let's see how this boss battle goes...

In the lore it is explained that this huge Lion, Serosh, is meant to help Godfrey hold his emotions and killing pulsions. The lion helps by pushing his claws through Godfrey's flesh to help him hold on and stay "controlled", by killing Serosh, Godfrey becomes Hoara Loux again, a dangerous and violent chieften that slaughters everything barehanded. Probably one of the most badass characters of the game!

@@tirelipinponchiwawa9368 to be fair though he did that solely because Marika betrayed him, and before he was ever in possession of destined death, another empyrean, the gloam eyed queen, was in possession of destined death, potentially even the entire primordial form of the elden ring since we know before the age of the erdtree that placidusax was Elden Lord, she had destined death, potentially the entire primordial elden ring, before the age of the erdtree, placidusax may very well have been her consort having been elden Lord in the prior age.

My buddy pointed this out to me when I fought Godfrey, the first elden lord. The grace that he can see is pointed towards us in the cutscene because we were the next opponent for him in his story. Just like how grace has directed us to the next opponent in our story. Its a really neat detail that the devs put in.

Ahh 6:40, yes he is. The lion's sole purpose is to *suppress* Godfrey's lust for battle and act as his regent when he was Elden Lord. Basically he decides to fight you at his full *bower*

Fun fact: Your character class, the “hero”, is from a place called the badlands. According to the opening, hourah loux is the chieftain of the badlands! Idk how this works but your basically kicking your boss’s ass.

@@BomberDX97 The Tarnished in general may or may not be the actual descendants of Godfrey. Even moreso, as chieftain, he is almost definitely the father, grandfather or ancestor of any Tarnished of the Hero class; because they all come from the tribe he founded in exile.

In short, yes, the lion was Godfrey's weighted clothing. I love two things about this fight: 1) Godfrey gets smoked by mages, but Hoorah Loux WILL fold mages like laundry if given the chance 2) Whenever Godfrey kills you with the Batista Bomb, he has a unique animations where he rips your character in half from your sternum.

In my opinion Godfrey is one of my favorite boss fights in this game, the difficulty spike in ng+ when you get to him is huge (I went the whole game without dying to a single boss until him, I'm past 10+ attempts now)

After experiencing this fight for the first time back on my first playthrough, I was eager to see how Deion would react when he got slammed Tekken style by Godfrey's second phase. Didn't disappoint And the King of Bower is one step closer to being Elden Lord. I hope he's ready for what's behind that golden light.

Idk if you plan on exploring the elden ring lore, but the Godfrey you fought before was actually an astral projection created by Morgott as an extra guard. The same with Mohg the omen; it was a creation of Morgott’s to guard a secret behind the altar you fought him at (won’t spoil in case you wanna revisit that place). The real Godfrey had left the lands between as per his and Marika’s plan; and like all of tarnished came back to the lands between to claim the elden ring. I do recommend you check out the lore for this game because I do think you’ll love it a lot :) Great video as always, I always look forward to them!

Fun fact you did realize near your last encounter with him - There is “technically” input delay deliberately - release to dodge not press to dodge, else you couldn’t hold to sprint with the same button - or you’d have to roll first before sprinting. Only reason he caught you for that Suplex RKO - it got me my first time randomly

It's actually super impressive at least to me how he learns the attacks and improves every time he fights a boss. At first he was using every flask and dying relatively quick but by the time he won the fight he'd only used 3 flasks. I think that's what I like about the games in general. You can really see yourself improving. Yeah you may die 30 times to a boss but then when you finally beat it it's so satisfying
