Can you combine multiple sessions of the same object together to increase your signal to noise ratio?

Hi. When I try to add images a message comes up to say I don’t have any saved images. I have switched the save each file on. Any ideas what I can do? Simon

At 0:49 into the video I mention and show that in your advanced features you have to make sure ‘save each frame in enhancing’ is turned on Before you start imaging. This should save all the stacks. But you mention you did this. Make sure also that your device (phone or tablet) has the latest software updates. I’ve noticed that if I don’t update, it can affect the app.

A wonderful refresher on SeeStar in- app image post processing! Now, if only ZWO could offer some way to operate our SeeStars in EQ to avoid the dreaded field rotation. Maybe they could come up with a custom latitude base and firmware update? Thanks, Michael

I hope so! An EQ option would be awesome!

I have not yet used the Deep Sky Stack technique yet, but have a question. If I use the Deep Sky Stack, I assume it uses the stacked images...Once I use the Deep Sky Stack, will those for example in your video, the 31 stacked images, will they still be available to be used in Siril, or PixInsight or whatever app we choose to do further processing? Or once used in Deep Sky stack be will they be permanently changed because you used the Deep Sky Stack? Thank you for your videos. I just subscribed. Looking forward to more of them.
@TheAstroRoom9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Even after stacking, you can go back in and restack the same subs or choose other subs you want to stack of the same object. You can also transfer those same subs to process in other software such as Siril 😃 Thanks for watching!

When I click on ADD IMAGES it only shows three files that are dated March and February. NOTHING since then and I have a ton of stuff on my Seestar. I imaged M57 over four nights and I want to stack them using Deep Sky Stack in the app on my iPhone but they don't show up. Any idea why?
@TheAstroRoom7 ай бұрын
Make sure you follow what it says at 0:53 in the video, in your advanced settings, the 'save each frame in enhancing' mode has to be turned on before imaging any object.

Hi. I'm trying to do this stacking with photo's. After I hit all, the app doesn't have an "ok" button at the bottom. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Mickey

Make sure you follow the instructions on this video as stated and you’re in the correct album (the one named ✅deep sky stack and Not🚫the one named My Album)

@@TheAstroRoom Hi. I have most if not all of my photo's in My Album. Is there any way to transfer them to the Deep Sky Stack? Not quite sure why they are in there. I had the switch to do the save each frame on. Thanks for the help. M

How do I save images to the Deep Sky Stack instead of the My Album? Thanks for any help you can provide. M

Hello.I must have done something, now I am able to stack the images. M
@TheLikkebaard6 ай бұрын
I bought a Seestar S50 a month ago, the stacking showed in the video is NOT what I see in the App, you CANNOT do these stacking sessions, the Seestar does the stacking automatically by itself, , no manual intervention as shown can be done. I do not know why this woman shows it like this, because it is not a true representation and I am disappointed in this machine because of this, you have to take the pictures to an external program to process them. Which is not wrong persé, but more elaborate than shown. Pity Seestar just changed the app.

This feature is 100% available. Not sure why you believe it is not. Make sure you follow the steps exactly as mentioned in the video, and you can manually select your sub images for stacking and the app will do it all on its own. Of course, you can also process your own images in external software but the feature to do it in the Seestar app itself is there. After following the steps in this video, and selecting your ‘Sub’ images, let me know if you were able to do it. There should be No issues.

I am confirming that this feature is still available even after the latest software and firmware update. ZWO would obviously Not remove this feature. This scope is continuously improved.

@@TheAstroRoom Dear AstroRoom, no, the feature on my app is gone, it is obviously a bug in the new 2.61 version of the app, you show an older one, the 2.3 version!! Now, If I want to add images, the App doesn't show the ones I made. When I connect the Seestar to my computer, I see the images in a "sub" directory, all in fits or fts format, not in RAW by the way. Luckily, with those pictures I can use an external stack program, but obviously, I want to work with the Seestar app as well, as it's part of the deal!!!!

@@TheAstroRoom Sorry, but no, also, the post processing is not available in the app, I am not stupid, I know my way around IT equipment.
@TheAstroRoom6 ай бұрын
@@TheLikkebaard Are you using iOS or android? I have the latest firmware update and this feature still works. This feature has Not been removed with new firmware updates. First, Make sure on your advanced features that you have “save each frame in enhancing” option turned On. Also make sure you are in the deep sky stack album and not the one labeled my album. The deep sky stack album has all the files labeled as ‘sub’. If the option wasn’t turned on when imaging/stacking, then the files will not appear. If trying all of this still does not work for you, I recommend submitting a bug report through your app because the feature is there, including post processing through the app.
