Seestern 62MAS (Is the homage better than the original?)

I am sneaking around this heimdallr since almost one and a half years, because i like the Grand Seiko design so much. How is it on the wrist? I know it's a big one.

@@knutjunker2019 I wish i could help with some hands on info. But my watch is still doing a slow boat from China with approximate delivery date on April 7th. I'm a 19,5cm/7,6inch wrister, so I feel somewhat confident it will not be too large to handle. The channel "The Watcher" did a review on the watch called "The Monstrous Heimdallr GS Godzilla Homage" if you want to see someone fiddling around with the watch. the current Ali Express sale ends tomorrow, so if you are in no hurry, I'm sure it will be available on the next one as well.

Seiko divers are incredible mostly. The case shapes the dials the Lume . But they are getting expensive. These homage watches lately are beating established brands so bad. You get solid bracelets endlinks , sapphire, ar coating , good Lume on some models , " all should do better Lume". Screw down crowns , . How many Swiss and Japanese watches still using mineral glass hollow end links folded bracelet, stamped clasp terrible Lume, no screw down crown and cost 10x .

I agree 100% i now have a Seestern Sub 300, San Martin Pelagos and Octopus Kraken Seamaster 007 and each one is absolutely fantastic and better than the last. I have swiss watches that cost 10x as much and don’t hold a candle to these Chinese homages. Its scary how good they are but im taking full advantage of it.

I have 3 Seiko 3 seestern. Lume amazing on both, crown action actually better on seestern, I'll call straps and bracelet about equal. Seiko just looks more put together, pure white loom, nice chapter rings, original dials. Price obv goes to seestern

Got this one in 3 days ago, used in pristeen condition for €135. Took the bracelet of and put it on a Gnomon Tropic. I own Sinn, Tissot Omega, Heuer, Fortis, Oris Yema, Seiko... 100-9000 range. This Seestern is an instant winner.

The Watch looks absolutely great. BTW: »Seestern« ist the german name for »Starfish«. The Chinese know how to sell watches with european sounding brand names like Seestern, Heimdallr, Hroudland and so on.

You are correct. It’s pronounced “zay-stern” in German and does indeed mean starfish. Cool little detail.

I love Chinese watches. I didn't at first because I was buying a lot of junk. Sometimes I still receive some junk. Once you begin to actually learn something about Chinese watches you can find good quality like this Seestern example. I like San Martin watches myself but I can see why you would like this Seestern 62mas homage.

When I first started collecting I started with these. When you start buying higher end seikos there is a big difference. Does it justify the huge price difference. Not sure. But there is a gap in quality. But it is an awesome place to start.

Features like sapphire crystal, solid movement, and adequate finishing of 316L steel, are great for the price. But each time I get interested in a Ali Express watch, there are some design or QC issues. On this one, the strap length is problem that can be fixed, but I also see complaints about the crown not working properly or even falling out.

The one criticism I have, is the crown feels flimsy when you pull it out to regulate the hands.

Just about every Chinese homage of a Seiko I have ever seen is better than the original, and always a lot cheaper. Seestern are part of the Suggess group

I think you will find the lume on most San Martin watches will give Seiko a run for their money

Seiko's biggest mistake is supplying NH35, NH36, NH34 movement to everybody.

If Seiko didn't sell their movements it'd just mean more business for Miyota, Seagull, etc. Might as well at least sell a movement if you can't sell the whole watch.

The reason why people promotes microbrands is because they are cheap while the original seiko getting more expensive and that's the part of the plan. Sadly you still usiing a seiko machine inside that seestem..The reason why seiko are getting more expensive is because some company degraded seiko as cheap and low end watches. Seiko now think well thats okey we have to increase our prices.
