Seestern Dox 1a V3 The watch that shocked me for build quality and value.

The functioning of the bezel and bezel insert is correct on the Seestern watch. The outer graduation is for depth measurement in feet, while the inner bezel insert has graduation for depth time in minutes. Both have to be fused together to get a correct time availability at any given depth while diving. The empty case has its bezel and insert functioning incorrectly. I observed this incorrect feature on review of a Pagani Design homage too, if I am right.

I look at my Seestern like a very respectable poor man’s Doxa with a bombproof Seiko movement under the hood. I absolutely love mine.

Yes, both inner and outer rings turn at the same time like the Doxa. Also, there is nothing wrong with the hands on this watch. They look almost identical to the Doxa.

Great review! I have the the synchronization dial version of the Seestern Doxa and I love it! Hate to break it to you but I picked up mine for 115 on AliExpress during the last sale! I did have to wait about a month so maybe it evens out! Keep up the great work and I would love to see the mod once done!

Good review! Don't know if you've tried yet but I think you will or have found that swapping out the clasp on this watch is not as easy as you indicated it might be. The problem is that the final bracelet link doesn't have it's own set of springbar holes in the clasp but it instead shares the post that the flip lock is mounted on, making swapping of the clasp very difficult if not impossible.

You are correct, the clasp is not easy to swap. I haven't figured out how to do it yet. The bracelet isn't bad to be honest, the clasp let's it down.

I can't help but notice that you never did a video revealing the mod of this watch and I suspect it is because you discovered that either you couldn't put an NH 36 inside the case, or that the new dial didn't fit and probably the hands didn't convert to the NH 36 movement, too. I would be curious to know what happened.

I did put a NH36 in it, with custom dial and pics are on my instagram and my state of collection video I show the watch and go over it.

Great review! I also picked one up recently. It also says S406 on the back unlike other V3s I have seen. I am also don't think it has AR as it does reflect a lot and does not have that blue hue of others I have seen. Have you noticed that?

$199 is close to double what I'd pay for this because it's always on sale for around $108-$130. I have the 600T and it's a fantastic watch for the money. I'm looking at this now for $108 minus my coins, but after the glycine and the san martin in the last 20 days... i should slow down

Thank you for the kind words. I purchased the other case to mod from EBAY. It was like $40. Quality is not bad. I plan to build this mod over Labor Day weekend. I might do a short vid on it when complete.

I have the V2 of that watch, like it alot, especially with the lumed date wheel, I think that's specific/unique to Seestern, not a Seiko feature as far as I'm aware? Looking forward to your NH36 build in the other case.

@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri dangerous if you plan on using the dual bezel for its intended purpose “The dual-scale bezel can be set in the same way as a regular dive bezel to measure elapsed time, but it also gives the diver an instant reading on how long you can spend at different depths. So, if you begin your dive at quarter past the hour, you simply align the bezel dot with the minute hand at 15 minutes. If you are planning, for example, to dive to 120 ft, a quick check will show that 120ft is in line with the 15-minute marker on the bezel; thus telling you that you can spend a maximum of 15 minutes at 120 ft without having to pause to decompress on your ascent. You only want to dive to 80 ft? OK, so check the bezel and you can see that you can spend a maximum of 40 minutes at that depth” So the two are supposed to turn together
