If I had not pulled the trigger on a Chronos a few months back, this would have been a pretty good alternative. The ratcheting bracelet is brilliant. With the smaller cases making a comeback, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 38mm S** homage.

Most of them are junk Ended up getting a helenarou 6538 eta fixed spring bar rep with my own custom logo vietnam gilt dial cause getting rlx on it would be wack af 🙃 Sugeee/seagull/cronos are the best out there in China Sm relies on its reputation but there qc is a joke I've sent back 4 6200 homages for or Pagani level misalignments an scratches.

The also dont qc watches like thry used too thry laod off 85% of there qc staff last month. San martian dont manafacture there own watches they buy parts from the illegal rep factorys an assemble them with there own custom dials. NO chinese homage watch company makes there own watches no matter how much they bs an pay people to say otherwise.

Just pulled the trigger on a Sugges branded hulk from one of the Seestern stores on Aliexpress were it was $5 cheaper than the one from the Sugess store. I originally wanted to get this very Seestern branded piece because of its simpler dial printing and non-etched rehaut, but it seems that they no longer make them, and the Sugess hulk has been out of stock for several months, so I didn't hesitate when I saw it was back in stock for the 6/18 sale. I ended up paying less than $138 shipping and taxes included, which is $20 less than what I paid for my Cronos L6015 during last year's end of the year sale, so a great deal for a purported better watch. I'll be ecstatic if I don't need to file down the bracelet for sharp edges like I've needed to do with the dozen Aliexpress watches I've bought to date. Sugess just released their Yacht-Master homage, which looks fantastic in blue. If this hulk is as good as the one you reviewed, I might go for the Yatty, too, but in the meantime, maybe you could get one for review? Thanks!

Seestern makes some fantastic watches. The S435 (w/PT5000, S.S. and blue dial/blue bezel) and the S446 (GMT w/NH34, S.S. and black dial) are my two favorites for business travel. EXCELLENT fit/finish.

Thank you for the review. I have one from Sugess myself, love it. I think it's the best s*b homage out there. Some brands bring "different" details like lumed bezels, non-glidelock clasps, odd looking (for a homage) datewheels, etc. But I don't that when buying a homage. Kudos to them for the attention to detail like that silver paint for the bezel, bezel feel, proper quality glidelock, thin case. And the overall feel in the hand and on the wrist is great for the price. I don't miss a high beat movement, with those NH35s you know, that the watch won't break suddenly. The only gripe for me is the bezel color itself - the green looks dull most of the time, on the hulk it's clearly more vibrant. The cyclops might have a little less magnification. And, for some reason, mine's got different spring bars: one is a tad too thin, which makes the endlink wiggle a little. Overall, it's the best s*b homage for me, arguably, the best diver for around $150. Now thinking of buying their GMT homage with the jubilee. Could you, please, do a review on that as well?

The only negative for me was the Times new Roman S branding on the crown and clasp but they are just laser engraved, and can be brushed out very easily

Going to have to throw a second comment on here.... funny how the high-beat version of this one is now at the top of my list, despite the fact that I still think the text on the dial is a major let-down (and one that could be fixed by the manufacturer fairly easily). Inquired with San Martin re their 019-G, which is kinda, sorta my favorite when it comes to these modern looking homages. Alas, they're now selling that one with a 21 to 18mm taper on the bracelet, a 20mm clasp and end-links that stick out way too much for my puny 17cm wrist. As much as I'd like to get that SM, I don't think it'll look right on me with that bracelet and, if I'm honest, 41mm is pushing it for me, anyway. Couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on the Sugess yet (again: text/font on the dial is putting me off), but at the moment, this one seems like the best option for me.

overall length is about 1mm longer, the SN017 also curves down a little bit more than this one....so its probably not just your eyes playing tricks. minimal, but the difference is there.

Yeah I have to admit it is good I got mine today and agreed not quite as good as san Martin but very close, my only gripe is on mine the crown is very stiff and smaller than the s m and has made my thumb sore but I've put a little grease on it so over time should ease a little, great review and thanks for your upload 👍

I don't know which sub to get - Sugess branded or Seestern. The latter looks better, although I can't identify why. I do see the shallow rehaut on the Surgess is engraved while the Seetern isn't, but the Seestern looks better in every other regard, though I can't identify why. I also see that Sugess has a high beat movement...which is appealing

Tough call. I really think, while the San Martin's and Cronos are nice, the question should be between this semester/sugess, and the new Watchdives WD5512. IMO, if you are good with a normal clasp, and pin & collar, the watchdives is excellent. I think the sugess is the most accurate sub homage, but the bezel action is pretty light and the lume is just ok. Bezel on the WD is the best of all of them, the lume is great, bracelet is good as well. It's a solid option for $130.

@@Ott0vonBismarck I've had bad luck with Cronos, 2 different ones had light bezel action and some ill fitting endlinks. Nice watches otherwise but a bit of a sour taste. FWIW any glide lock should be no problem on the watchdives bracelet.

Pre tax and any import fees, it's normally $175-ish. I got it on sale for $150-ish. Keep in mind they released an ST2130 version which is over $200. Just double checked, my listing still shows $181 for this all green model.

Had to open my SN021 with a coin edge caae back and used for that a bergeon rubber ball. It opened it up pretty easy. Maybe my watch was just closed sloppy on San Martins part or this rubber ball really works magic.

I reviewed their GMT which share most parts. It's OK. Spec sheet is identical, so it all comes down to the execution and finishing. This one is thinner with a nicer case profile, better finishing and more crisp on the case lines Better bezel action, better Lume, the bracelet is far and away superior. Tighter tolerances, and the clasp, while very similar, works much smoother on this one.

My eyesight is super good so it passes very well, the bracelet is actually very good in my opinion as well. A+ love the watch well done Bliger (note I got the no logo option). Will buy a SM as well to add to the small collection of divers watches.

It's all about thickness and case profile. The steeldive is thicker with a deeper rehaut. If that doesn't bother you, save some cash and get the steeldive

Cyclops, date window and rehaut are better than San Martin. Mine is not centered correctly and the cyclops is too far to the right. Apparently it's a fault with the v3 ghost.

Seestern just realized their Pelagos 39 and to me the dial looks much better than that Octopus bare bones nonsense dial. Check it out. They have it with a Seaguss movement or nh38.

Just received my Sugess and I must say that I am truly disappointed: the inside edges on the bracelet and the back of the watch case are just as sharp from the factory as my Cronos L6015 sub clone or my Watchdives X San Martin titanium SN0121T. So this is yet another watch purchase from Aliexpress that needs its bracelet's inner edges filed down round to make it bearable to wear. This watch also came with an hour hand with a noticeable shorter stem than shown on the product pages or the Seestern copy used on this video, a bezel pip and rehaut etching that don't align with the 12 o'clock mark on the dial's minute track, an endlink that doesn't quite sit right under one lug (and, thanks to their tiny access holes, have spring bars that can not be disengaged with normal fork-type tools), and a bezel action that feels somewhat loose. Sugess did nail the colors, sizes, shapes and finishes, and the glide lock action is very smooth. Still, a disappointment for me.

Side by side they are so so close. I'll eventually do a side by side with both watches on channel 2. I agree the SM is nicer in both brushed and polished, but I'm splitting hairs. It's really close

Especially with all the new upgrades cronos offers, full brush, date/no-date, full lume, glidelock, and pic from multiple movement options. They definitely have refined their product over time and shouldn't have much nit pick things anymore.

This one seems just about perfect. I also prefer this bezel to cronos'. Theirs just felt a tough to light and it would get knocked accidentally. I like their lume, the bracelet is great, new clasp is probably on par with this one....but there's just something about this one that pulls me towards it.

i have this watch for a month and i have to say it is so quality and good looking... but i want to change dial in seiko one, it is too small font for me, so did anybody changed dial before, i have two options 28.5mm and 29mm... which one would be better because some say it is 40.5mm and some say it is 40mm... so i am in dillema right now

The case diameter has little to do with the dial diameter best bet is to pop the dial out and measure. But my guess is that either one will fit

They really need to have a think about their branding/names/font on the dial. "Seaman"? Really...? Plus the font on the Sugess looks like one of those "vaguely Asian"-looking fonts that are used by Chinese restaurants. I can live with the "Seestern" name (which is probably a Goggle-translation of "Ocean Star", but it just happens to mean "starfish" in German). So why not come up with a starfish-looking logo, ditch the nonsensical "Sugess"-name and put "Seestern" and that logo on all these watches? A single line of text at the 12 just isn't enough for this style of watch, IMO ... there should be some sort of logo up there.

Their GMT diver also says ISO compliance these are probably leftover batches from before the two back together because I know they were claiming ISO over a year ago I'd be longer than that me and time don't usually back together.

Had to open my SN021 with a coin edge caae back and used for that a bergeon rubber ball. It opened it up pretty easy. Maybe my watch was just closed sloppy on San Martins part or this rubber ball really works magic.

I need to get me one of those magic balls. Duct tape ball works no doubt, but the squishy ball is a bit more elegant of a solution....lol

@@EscapeWheel I'm sorry, I don't know why my comment was posted twice. Yeah, pick one up! But just go for the Bergeon ball, don't bother with the cheap chinese stuff. At least if the Bergeon doesn't work you know it's not a quality but a tool issue.
