About the band:
The rock quartet, who also founded the annual Rise Above Fest for nearly ten years to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental illness, remains a beacon of integrity on their new upcoming album The Surface Seems So Far, which promises to captivate both loyal fans and newcomers alike with its blend of memorable hooks, driving rhythms, and unapologetic rock spirit. With five gold and platinum albums and two dozen Billboard Rock Airplay Top 10 hits including 20 No. 1s at U.S. radio (including their anthems “Broken,” “Fake It” and “Words as Weapons”) throughout a career spanning over two decades, Seether is as vibrant and relevant as ever. Hailing from South Africa, Shaun Morgan proudly draws inspiration from his grunge and hard rock roots, crafting a unique sonic identity that propelled the band’s Gold-certified American debut and continues to resonate deeply with fans worldwide.

This is one of my favorite songs by Seether, however its been a while since I listened to it. I've been struggling with anxiety and depression lately and after listening to this song a few times and paying attention to the lyrics it hit me in a whole new way. Makes me want to get my guitar out and jam to this song, and their other tunes, like I used to. Great band, great music, and one of my favorite bands to see live.

My wife walked out on me and the kids a year ago. This man helps keep the pain away. So beautifully honest in a world of deceipt. You have to experience pain to sing about it. This guy, Kurt Cobain And Aaron Lewis are the 3 best male vocalists ever in my opinion. All 3 of them had a tough life. All 3 of then wore their heart in their sleeves. And all 3 of them sing the most amazing accoustic sets of all time. Thanks Shaun youve really kept me going through a very tough period in my life.

I'm glad that this song is no longer the soundtrack to my life. When I was down at rock bottom and barely able to look at myself in the mirror this song reflected the turmoil in my soul. It made me listen to my silent screams and face the pain of being human. Now that my life is on track I can listen to it and smile instead of cry. I can be proud for what I overcame as opposed to being ashamed of that thing.

Beyond amazing, and awesome in the truest sense of that overused word. If you don't already know his story and what drives him then get to it! #Motivation

Night before last, I looked at my fiancée while feeling the most unexplainable heavy pressure over me that I've ever experienced in 38 years.... Immediately followed was overwhelming emptiness. I awoke to the reality of my Dad's passing. Closure couldn't ever be any further away....

HillsOfAppalachia If your close to your parents I don’t think one ever really comes to terms with their passing. I’m just thankful that I knew them and they were good parents because a lot of people in this world doesn’t even have that this day and age. Good memories and bands like Seether help me cope. I’ll be thinking about you. PS: My grandmother was from the town of Appalachia, Va.

@@stevewalters6853 I have always been connected with my dad. Unfortunately he never made the appropriate decisions or choices towards my upbringing. All I wanted was acceptance. He was stubborn. Our last conversation 19 months ago wasn't anything of the sort in resemblance of closure. Even though, some how... I felt it when our spiritual connection untethered.

I feel like this is a plea to Jesus...I have loved this band forever but listening to this now with a different perspective...the ultimate gift is salvation! We all need it (look at the world right now!) and the lyrics are aligned to this. Search your soul and you will find that he is within you and you are destined to be his! No one is too far gone and he is there for us! Amen...great song and band!

Matt Durocher 💜 Same with my dad. I actually said "F*** you old man I hope you die!", as I slammed the door. I lived that moment over again too many times... Cried by his bedside every day next few weeks. Kept saying I'm so sorry, I don't hate you, I love you!!!!..... He squeezed my hand. ...... He never knew me again in that body, in this world. He knew I loved him before I did. That was 30 years ago. Raised 2 beautiful, amazing kids. I don't know shit about anything except my life forever changed as a parent, I AM the man I thought I hated & I live for them! Mistakes made in life are not regrettable if you learned something from them. I'll gladly hold the pain for my kids to never have to feel that way. Crazy we are most vicious to the ones who hold our hearts with the most love. Peace Matt

Matt Durocher,Thank you for sharing, as you aren't alone. I had to go oversea's for a little bit as my dad was nearing the end of his life at the time. Thought for sure he'd still be there when I got back or I wouldn't have went. Last words were i'll miss you son. I didn't think too much about it as I'd been oversea's a few times in the past and it wasn't anything him and I hadn't gone through before. Looking back, he meant I'll miss you as I won't be here when you get back. Fucks me up that he knew i loved serving so much, that he put that before his own needs. some selfless shit, I miss that guy.

Growing up in modern tumultuous South Africa puts life in a serious perspective. Obviously, Shaun writes usually about personal experiences but Seether always writes and plays with such passion and conviction to the music. The band has worked hard for many years and I am happy to see the band finally getting success overcoming the finances and struggles in the music world.

I think of the old man when I hear this song. He was the one who first heard of Seether and made sure his kids heard it too. We played this for his funeral service, seemed like a fitting tribute for me and little sister. Ever since then, it's been a great memory starter. Miss ya Garry, here's to life... again

I didn't just discover Seether. Despite being a habitual shoplifter as a teenager, I still went and actually paid for every album they ever came out with. I always knew they'd hit big despite my friends saying they weren't "heavy" enough. This brings back so many good memories of a time I'll never have back.

My elder brother introduced me to Seether on 2005 and I would listen to karma and effect album and sing along with the lyrics which was provided with the cassette. I remember him saying I was a bigger Seether fan than him. My brother passed away on 2006, but I still listen occasionally to all the songs and bands he used to like. I'm glad for the gift he gave me which was the memories and the songs he used to listen to. If anyone reads this, it's a wonderful life. Enjoy! ☺

By Far.. the Best Band Live I've ever seen besides Mudvayne & FFDP. used to hit up every concert I could until life found me and now I have two young children. Not as convienant to just up an leave for a show like it used to be. Through 2003 to 2011 I saw Seether around 6 or 7 times and I was Never disappointed. I'm from Ohio and as Many know that's where Rock Lives. Dayton, OH used to have a narly concert named X-Fest sponsored by their local new rock radio station 103.9 the x. I basically lived for that gig every year until they decided to stop having it. By for the worst descion they ever made. It Definitely was a Great Experience and Definitely Memories I Will Cherish my Entire Life. Of course we also had warped tour, OzzFest and the newer n popular Rock on the Range. Neither one can compare to X-Fest but still a Great Time. Man oh Man do I miss when Rock Sounded like this. Bitter Sweet to say the Least. I can only hope that someday soon I'll flip on the radio and be stunned to hear the stellar rhythm of this era pounding through my speakers. til then I'll live through these "older" tunes. [^8

Still comin back in 2023,THIS is my favorite song by seether, though there are many faves from them...i've seen them twice at ROCKLAHOMA! last year, evanescence played before them, amy lee played call me when your sober, and was just a witch, awesome move on having seether play right after them,it was like their 20 years ago break up playing out in front of the 75,000 people,Shaun Morgan came out swinging and absolutely demolished her,it was hilarious...she's got a beautiful voice, and she's gorgeous, but she's also very ugly as a human being, she's got a habit of kicking people when they're down! thank you Seether for making that the highlight of Rocklahoma for me! i was sad to see you wouldn't be there this year :(

This song makes me think of my depression and how I've had the Gift of this life but wasted most of it battling demons I can't control. It will make you feel guilty and ashamed of not being a better person or being enough!! Your always craving love and to be understood and sometimes you pray because God probably understands and may be the only one who truly ever does. It's a conversation with the almighty!!
