My wife walked out on me and the kids a year ago. This man helps keep the pain away. So beautifully honest in a world of deceipt. You have to experience pain to sing about it. This guy, Kurt Cobain And Aaron Lewis are the 3 best male vocalists ever in my opinion. All 3 of them had a tough life. All 3 of then wore their heart in their sleeves. And all 3 of them sing the most amazing accoustic sets of all time. Thanks Shaun youve really kept me going through a very tough period in my life.

I'm glad that this song is no longer the soundtrack to my life. When I was down at rock bottom and barely able to look at myself in the mirror this song reflected the turmoil in my soul. It made me listen to my silent screams and face the pain of being human. Now that my life is on track I can listen to it and smile instead of cry. I can be proud for what I overcame as opposed to being ashamed of that thing.

Night before last, I looked at my fiancée while feeling the most unexplainable heavy pressure over me that I've ever experienced in 38 years.... Immediately followed was overwhelming emptiness. I awoke to the reality of my Dad's passing. Closure couldn't ever be any further away....

HillsOfAppalachia If your close to your parents I don’t think one ever really comes to terms with their passing. I’m just thankful that I knew them and they were good parents because a lot of people in this world doesn’t even have that this day and age. Good memories and bands like Seether help me cope. I’ll be thinking about you. PS: My grandmother was from the town of Appalachia, Va.

@@stevewalters6853 I have always been connected with my dad. Unfortunately he never made the appropriate decisions or choices towards my upbringing. All I wanted was acceptance. He was stubborn. Our last conversation 19 months ago wasn't anything of the sort in resemblance of closure. Even though, some how... I felt it when our spiritual connection untethered.

I feel like this is a plea to Jesus...I have loved this band forever but listening to this now with a different perspective...the ultimate gift is salvation! We all need it (look at the world right now!) and the lyrics are aligned to this. Search your soul and you will find that he is within you and you are destined to be his! No one is too far gone and he is there for us! Amen...great song and band!

It is... When he says, "The gift you give me," he means he's ashamed of all the bad stuff he's done and doesn't deserve the gift of forgiveness
This has been one of my favorite songs since I was a teenager.. I'm 38 now n literally listening to this time just now.. I finally understood the lyrics.. it's insane how these bands write these songs and younger we hear them different but when we become their age when they wrote the songs.. it makes complete sense

Matt Durocher 💜 Same with my dad. I actually said "F*** you old man I hope you die!", as I slammed the door. I lived that moment over again too many times... Cried by his bedside every day next few weeks. Kept saying I'm so sorry, I don't hate you, I love you!!!!..... He squeezed my hand. ...... He never knew me again in that body, in this world. He knew I loved him before I did. That was 30 years ago. Raised 2 beautiful, amazing kids. I don't know shit about anything except my life forever changed as a parent, I AM the man I thought I hated & I live for them! Mistakes made in life are not regrettable if you learned something from them. I'll gladly hold the pain for my kids to never have to feel that way. Crazy we are most vicious to the ones who hold our hearts with the most love. Peace Matt

Matt Durocher,Thank you for sharing, as you aren't alone. I had to go oversea's for a little bit as my dad was nearing the end of his life at the time. Thought for sure he'd still be there when I got back or I wouldn't have went. Last words were i'll miss you son. I didn't think too much about it as I'd been oversea's a few times in the past and it wasn't anything him and I hadn't gone through before. Looking back, he meant I'll miss you as I won't be here when you get back. Fucks me up that he knew i loved serving so much, that he put that before his own needs. some selfless shit, I miss that guy.

If you haven't heard this whole concert you are severely missing out. It is available on dvd and can also be found here on KZbin. One Cold Night. One of the finest moments in rock history. An absolutely stunning series of great songs beautifully executed in a very profound way. Including a great cover of a Pearl Jam song called Immortality that actually sounds better than the legendary original in my humble opinion

So in 2004 I got caught up in opioid addiction ..while riding home after one of my 10hr shifts at work at 2 a.m. this came on the l9cal station .waaf 107.3 boaton / Worcester Massachusetts.. this song brought a tear to my eye... Rest Easy all my people this disease took ...❤️🙏

Beautifully said. From Worcester also and also got caught up years ago… It is still so sad but the company that made and told everybody they were safe had a back up plan with subs .. which saved my life, but unfortunately is 10 times stronger and harder to live without but again saved me in many ways .. This song just popped up now. I’ve gone back listening to all there stuff. Great band and he has got a great voice.✌️💚

I hope someday Shaun gets the respect he deserves. When people are discussing the truly great musicians/songwriters his name should be right there beside other extremely talented ones like Plant, Page, Hendrix, Cornell, Prince, etc. He truly deserves it.

What a perfect song! I've always been a casual Seether fan, saw them once, but somehow this song has escaped me... until today. It will be all of my playlists going forward for sure. Amazing.

I can listen to this song over and over again, I can feel the feeling, the pain and the intensity in the performance. In my opinion apart from Shaun's incredible voice, it is one of the most outstanding post-grunge performances.

I was lucky enough to see them in August. The tickets were a surprise birthday gift. I love their music but there's something more that fascinates me about them. I just haven't figured it out yet. (Other than Shaun being gorgeous) I hope they come by this way again. =)
