Not sure if she is in the video since I haven't watched it yet, but did anyone think of Anne of Austria and the 23 years of miscarriages she went through before giving birth to the Sun King?

It's quite sad how Nicholas and his wife couldn't create a suitable heir to the dynasty no matter how hard they tried. Once they finally conceived a boy after giving birth to 4 girls, the boy had to come into the world with a very dangerous disease that surely would not have given him many years of life, even if he had not been killed prematurely by the communists
@Disneyfilmily2 жыл бұрын
They had four girls, to make it even harder!

It just sucks they couldn't do the right thing and just let Olga take the throne. She would have been a fantastic Czarina.

How in the world would you think the French king Louis would be pronounced "Lewis?"

Thank you for saying it.

This channel would really benefit from pronunciation consultation or research. Whilst benefiting from the good work done to deliver good and factual information, there will be many watching that will imitate the pronunciations that they assume to be equally good and factual. This and many other channels unfortunately help to proliferate bad pronunciation on a large scale which is quite a misservice to the audience and the wider world. Please don't take this as an attack, it's meant only as feedback in order to help improve the quality of your productions.

Since it wasn’t the first time I heard some pronunciation mistakes I thought it was on purpose to trigger comments like this. But I agree. I know that some names can be hard but it felt kind of half-decent to miss so many.
@laura1216842 жыл бұрын
Came here to say this. Not only is there a problem pronuncing names, but other words as well. That's not to mention using incorrect words entirely (using the word "concluded" when he seemed to mean "consummated"), but yes, for the sake of everything that is holy, I hope he learns to pronunce names and words before he makes more videos.
@kimberlypatton96342 жыл бұрын
Yes.If you're going to conduct a historical info channel,it behooves you to take a few extra moments to check "Google" for pronunciation......there are those who need that correctness and may not use it while giving reports for school etc following these mistakes.
@panjoy96282 жыл бұрын
I was going to say the same, Im less than a minute in and already cringing from them pronouncing the "s" at the end of Louis, which is perhaps the most commonly known French name that does NOT pronounce the "s" at the end. I'm new to the channel and it made me think they just slapped on a half-decent "siri" text to voice thing

I would think of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the second wife of Louis VII of France. Since it wasn't until Louis VII's third wife he would get his hier to the throne in King Philip II of France.
@katiemartin69912 жыл бұрын
Her great-granddaughter, Eleanor of Castile, is also a good candidate. She gave birth to 15 children, losing almost all of them and then dying after giving birth to 15th child and only living son, the future Edward II of England.

I can’t help but wonder if your purposefully mispronounced almost every name. S is silent at the end of words in French. Louis is not pronounced like the surname Lewis. It’s more like Loo-ee. In Medici the c is pronounced with the CH sound. The content is good but the repeated mispronounced well known names is hard to ignore. Wikipedia has pronouncement guides on each bio age. It would greatly improve your content to look those up in your basic research.

Behead or get rid of the king who generates only daughters with any dude who carries Y chromosomes, if you are so keen on a psychotic inheritance of whatsoever through a single gender hereditary mechanism. Which is ridiculous, as any noble title. Nowadays nobility has been adopted for a very brief period compared to human history, and all holy descent is simply laughable and irrational. Still unbelievable that most noble families haven't yet been stripped of what their ancestors have stolen with violence throughout the last centuries. Historical accuracy, besides the above, is disputable.
@davidortiz30942 жыл бұрын
If a King wants a son that's his right. Just like anyone else. Also his right to decide who to leave the throne to. You don't have to like it. One's opinion is irrelevant when it comes to how royalty choose to live.
@randomnordmann40202 жыл бұрын
Ridiculous how? You know what the main cause of a kingdom ending up as the lesser partner in a personal union back then was? Very simple actually, no male heirs.
