In this video, I take you along with me on a trip I've dreamt of doing for a long time; solo camping and fishing in the world famous Florida Everglades National Park. I drove down to Flamingo Park Campground for a two night stay at site 54 in the A-loop. While there, I explored the area encountering its native wildlife including crocodiles, manatees, and more bird species than I could count. I also brought my kayak to go fishing in Florida Bay and Snake Bight for it's world class Redfish, Speckled Trout, Snook and Tarpon fishery.

The crocs at the boat ramp there are freaking huge and every time I ever fished down there they blew my mind at how many and how large they were, but the fishing is awesome there , nice video, but I think I would want a bigger boat

Great video. And you definitely saw crocs. No mistaking them for alligators. I’m more surprised about the flamingos.they’re super rare. If you’re sure it wasn’t roseate spoonbills, you need to report that you saw flamingos. People take special trips in the back country trying to document occasionals from other parts of the Caribbean.

Love Flamingo ENP!!! It looks like you didn't venture far from the marina. Snake Bight is so big. You should have seen it all before the grass die off. It was crystal clear except for the mullet muds. We were catching tarpon in the mullet muds when a lemon shark ate my 20 pound tarpon. Oh by the way, I would guess that the blow up by a our boat was a shark and not a mullet. 😁. Keep up the good videos.

Great video . I grew up in South Florida and there is nothing like the Florida Everglades . especially where you're at right now you can throw a line in the water and you never know what you're going to catch? it's a mixed bag of fish and predators . I moved up to Sebring and I haven't been to the Everglades almost 30 years. in fact there's not a day or a moment that I don't think about the fishing in South Florida

My husband and I just stayed at the EcoTent site in Everglades National Park. But never again! The only reason to stay in these tents is so you can have a lovely view of the water and the sunset as you retreat for the night and wake up in the morning. To get these beautiful views you need to have your tent flaps up. But our tent was located with our viewing windows on 2 sides about 8 feet from the boardwalk. Yes, we could see the water, but also everyone walking past. And they could see us. And they looked, and they waved, and they even shined lights on us in the middle of the night. It was ridiculous. The fishbowl effect plus the long walk to the not very clean restrooms, the battalions of mosquitoes, the closeness of the tents and total lack of sound privacy, and the inability to have any food at or inside our tent meant that this was not the trip we wanted. We brought great food with us but ended up eating it in the Marina parking lot with mosquitoes all around. We had planned to stay 3 nights as we have loved the Everglades for decades, but the discomfort and disappointment in the EcoTent site meant we left after 1 night. And of course EcoTents of Flamingo Adventures does not give refunds. Never again! Save your money and bring your own tent.
