HIDDEN LEGACY THAT CHANGED THE WORLD…
The Sephardic experience is more than recounting history; this is an essential segment of Jewish and world history spanning centuries unfolding in present day.
Despite its historic relevance and present-day consequences, many in Jewish and world communities do not have a clear understanding of the far-reaching significance of these events. We invite you to learn more, to share, and participate in this important mission to bring this story too light.

Bit of a unique story, but I'm of Palestinian descent on both sides. My maternal grandfather fled Palestine after 67 because of the economic uncertainties that followed and he found refuge in Puerto Rico. There he met my grandmother and lived happily ever after. One day I sat down with my grandmother and heard the same stories she would always tell me about her grandfather and how I looked like him. I never dove deeper until now, but she gave me his name and I decided to check the census that was available for Puerto Rico in the early 1900's. I found him in census records, but oddly he used different surnames between two different censuses. Decided to ask my grandma about the different surname and she looked into it further with her older sisters. It turns out, it was true, my grandfather had changed his surname upon arriving to Puerto Rico....but why? My grandma gave me some more information on that matter, that he lived in France for some time but was of Spanish origin and his father came to Puerto Rico in the 19th century. It seemed a little off to me, but I didn't think much of it until she told me about how religious he was and how adamant he was about raising his children catholic. It turns how he was so Catholic, he didn't eat PORK.....HUH? Puerto Rican, Catholic, but doesn't eat pork? That didn't add up so I decided to google his previous surname and it turns out, it's a Sephardic Jewish last name! Even my grandma started to make sense of some things considering the whole pork thing.

You guys have left out the Philippines again as usual, even though we are in Asia, the Philippines was the longest Spanish colony till the start of the 20th century, many Filipinos have Sephardic origins but you all fail to recognise this

A lot of Spanish jews stayed in Spain, they chose to convert to Christianity and many had very relevant positions in the Spanish society, including the Inquisition.

Not too long ago, I felt Adonai leading me back to Torah. Growing up as a nondenominational/pentecostal/charismatic, I knew what He was showing me was as true then as it is now, but I was still struggling. A few years after, by happenstance (if there is such a thing), I was researching my maiden last name for gift ideas for my Dad (thinking about getting him a coat of arms plaque or something) when I found out our last name has Sephardic roots. And again, by happenstance (researching what it means to be a Messianic Believer), Adonai showed me why I've so admired my birthstone for as long as I can remember. Not only has HaShem showed me that my family comes from the 10 lost tribes, He showed me specifically what tribe. The tribe of Gad! HalleluYah! The way Yah works. Praise Him! 🙏🙌🕎

My mother's maiden name was Abram! Her family of 6 Brothers & Sisters came from East London but I clearly recall my uncle saying we are Abram but not Jewish! Her ancestors came from a village In Lancashire called Abram. it seems likely that Abram was populated by Serphadic Jews in the 15th century but difficult to prove. Perhaps this whole 'lost Jewish heritage' is part of some of the mysteries spoken of in books like Nehemiah 1 v 9 "But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored." Perhaps these prophecies are being fulfilled before us? Amazing times!

Very nice video, Thank You . Seems Ireland, Scotland and Denmark, ( perhaps the tribe of Dan) had Jewish people there in the past , very little is written on this. Have read that the Hebrides in Scotland , may mean Hebrew Islands, perhaps part of my tribe of Gibson came from there and perhaps my Spanish side was formerly Cohen in Spain and is a Garcia line today.

A very interesting video, thank you! But there was one sentence I did not like: "we can either seize the opportunity or deal with the danger" OK, there is anti-semitism, but we can be sure that there will never be a inquisition or a holocaust any more. There is no war against the jews. It is not wise to use words like danger. This video could possibly evoke the impression that the jewish people feel like being at war with all the other humans and want to gain more power and chances to win the war. (I am a german who adopted the name of his jewish wife when he married her. And I love the old sephardic songs in ladino language that can be heard all around the mediterranean sea - this is why I watched this video.)

I have some Jewish ancestry apparently... Sephardic included. It may be through the people who came to the area of Hamburg, as my mother's people were mostly north coastal Germans... and I have a biological 4th cousin who shares the same Jever, mid-19th century, maternal, 3x great grandparents... who is also matching people in places like Puerto Rico, Brazil, Hungary, France, Spain, Turkey, Cyrprus, UK, Netherlands, Israel, etc. BUT... I won't know for sure... until I find documented evidence. And then it will be part of my heritage... not my identity per se. - I want to caution people about that. Don't jump to conclusions, etc, etc, etc.

Mr. Lorenzo Trujillo, yes, Jesus was a Jew, but he never entered a Catholic - or any other for that matter - church (it didn't exist in his time). So why do you?
