I never thought I'd see PULSEMAN on the SEGA channel. I guess it really was just the japanese rom. Such a treasure that this survived.

Does it need translation
@CosmicSponge2004Ай бұрын
It doesn't NEED it since all the dialouge is voiced in english but it helps with names @rustymixer2886 Luckily, a fan-made text patch has been online since 2007

Good to finally have some confirmation that Pulseman was never translated for the Sega Channel release.

Wasn't the only one. Most of the exclusives that saw a non US region release just used the PAL or JP ROM

Heck yea Sega Channel. Me and my big brother had this back in 1994 or so. I remember playing Vectorman 2 before you could buy it. It was so innovative at the time

I wasn't expecting an episode of Twitch. I used to watch this show every time it came on, but then after 20 years I forgot the name of the show, the content, and I thought a guy named Phil hosted it. Quite a treat, this. Very "Blitzcore".

fAscinating how smooth and clear Earthworm Jim looks, like a cartoon. When played today it looks so pixellated it loses some of its charm

I remember hearing about the Sega Channel and seeing advertisements for it, but never cared to check it out. It launched in 1994, nearly 5 years after the Genesis came out. By that time, I rarely used my Genesis anymore. Granted, I was one of the lucky kids who had a Neo Geo console (and still do). Not to mention, I was also heavily into building PCs and PC gaming at the time, thanks to games like Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Rise of the Triad, etc. I will note that by 1997/1998 (the date of these videos), most people had moved on from the Genesis and were using the Nintendo 64 as their primary console. A good amount of people were also using (or using instead) the Sega Saturn and/or Sony PlayStation. Sure NEC tried with their "Turbo Duo", but that ended up not selling nearly as good (even though it was a good system).You might ask "what about the Jaguar?" - hardly anyone even had/cared for that console. It is popular these days with retro gamers, but when it was new, no one cared.

What's that border on the Twitch segment? Did SEGA Channel have a method to sort of display a graphic around a standard cable broadcast or is that footage completely unrelated to SEGA Channel?
@nate5679872 ай бұрын
Unrelated just cable

@nate567987 ah, must have been a variety preview channel or something.
