Once the Sonic franchise don't received any new track in Smash Ultimate, I would just love if he could create remixes of some Sonic games, including a remix of the Jungle Zone theme from 8-bit Sonic 1, once his studio created this game, and Koshiro-san created all the original musics.

its so cool to know that he created his own drivers & sound system when composing music, the man is a genius of his craft. Loved how he handled Sonic on the master system, would love him to do a 16-bit renditon of those tracks. SoR2 and Revenge of Shinobi will always be my personal favourites of his.

He's one of my favorite composers, and it's a great bonus that he's such a nice guy. He often cross-tweets in many languages to fans who reach out, and that makes following him that much more endearing. Yuzo-san is world-class classy.

Definitely one of the greatest composers ever. Story of Thor 2 is actually my favorite OST from Yuzo Koshiro, but honestly, all of his works are fantastic. His ability to change styles is very impressive. He can compose a Zelda theme, then go full techno/transe in Wangan games, then pure classic in Story of Thor, then compose in the style of Michiru Yamane in Castlevania etc... There is no limit to his talent. You don't see such diversity from a composer often. Also, picking Space Harrier as favorite game is another example of good taste.

Fascinating interview and insight into this legendary producer and very talented man who's done so much for the gaming world. He's clearly very passionate about techno and very knowledgeable of all it's sub-genres, and it's good to see his music is still being appreciated. Didn't know he was such a talented programmer who made his own music programs though! Streets of rage 3 partially used randomly generated music?! Gee...couldn't tell...actually I love the SOR 3 OSt, but it does sound like a chaotic mess and that explains a lot.

I love Sega so much! They were the most innovative company ever and were not afraid to take risk. They also have great taste in music which is a big part of my life. Thanks for the great times Sega. Hiroshi Kawaguchi (Iconic Yamaha Synth Sound!) and Yuzo Koshiro don't even know how much their music has kept me going. Glad to hear that me and Yuzo have the same favorite game from the 80's. The music for that was also produced by Hiroshi Kawaguchi, who was heavily influenced by Jazz bands like Casiopea. Check out the song Space Road from Casiopea, it has Space Harrier written all over it. Great Sega music influences that have changed my life worth listening to: Haruomi Hosono Ryuchi Sakamoto YMO Casiopea Soul 2 Soul Green Velvet Enigma Carl Craig Aphex Twin Autechure Thanks for everything!

It can't be for complex music licensing issues. I own the whole SEGA forever collection and would love to get that too, but some games just require emulation due to the mess that is our copyright situation. If you own a physical copy in the United States you are licenced for one legal backup copy on your phone.
@ZacharyDietze6 жыл бұрын
Sean Byrne Yeah well it was already licensed on the game to begin with so there should be no issues with it. Literally the only thing that's technically in their way right now is one small and abusive composer who helped make parts of the soundtrack, but even then that's not a very good reason to prevent releasing it since they could easily either prove their case in court after like a week, or if all else goes wrong and is somehow actually illegal by now for whatever reason, then they could just offer to buy the soundtrack right off of him instead, which shouldn't be that big of a deal for a big company like SEGA and a big franchise title such as Sonic 3, which by the way is often regarded as the best in that series with CD as a close second. It's like not being able to release Crazy Taxi because one band in question refuses to comply with their soundtrack attached to it even though it already has years ago. If it was a different title or sequel then that's one thing, but it's a straight up port of an already approved of game. So that's not really a good excuse no matter which way you look at it.
