There actually is quite a bit to say about the CD-i, since it wasn't just supposed to be a games console, but a multimedia device that could use "Green Book" Compact Disc Interactive discs for software (both for entertainment and education) and movies in addition to uncompressed digital audio. Some "CD-i Ready" discs even allowed room for both redbook audio that can be played on a standard CD player and video content that could be played on a CD-i player, similarly to Phillips' earlier "CD Video" CD/LaserDisc hybrid format. It was basically a case of Phillips being way too ambitious about the CD format and suffering as a result.

I have a theory as to where the puck being an octopus came from. The octopus being the puck could be a reference to the “Detroit octopus throw”. In 1952 during the third game of the final series against the Montreal Canadiens, Pete Cusimano, an east side fish market owner, celebrated the first Red Wing goal by throwing an octopus onto the ice.

Shouldn't it be "The Sega Mega Drive, also known as the Sega Genesis"? Sega Mega Drive is the console's official original name, used in Japan and Europe, and was only changed in the United States due to unspecified reasons, but it's believed to be due to a trademark dispute around a US manufacturer of storage devices called "Mega Drive Systems Inc."

Red Wings fans will throw an octopus on the ice during key games in the post season or historically important games (first game in the new arena for example.) The origin of which came from the 50's?
