I've been loving this series so much. I can't go out hunting myself (thrift stores are still closed here in Maine) but it's inspiring me so much to start as soon as things start to open up again (safely of course). As for my first console it was a playstation 1. Still by far my favorite console of all time. Spider-Man, Spyro and Metal Gear were 3 of my favorites from the console.

I had an Atari 2600 and an Intellivision when I was 5 years old, then came the NES. But the 1st console I bought with my paper route money was the SNES... and I still have it 28 years later! Love your show bro!

15:40 dude thank you for taking the time to actually explain that, I'm a reseller aswell and I can't tell you how many times i've given someone a deal, reference or just offered advice/help just because someone was nice, same goes for any other avenue in life and people just don't understand this. I had a sale a few days ago where a guy said "I know it says firm, but is there any way that you could help me out on the price" I could only do 10% off but he was grateful and I sold the item quicker so win win...versus the people that literally just throw out a number, or pretend to act nice and interested only to hit you with a 50% offer...most people aren't going to help the latter.

First console I owned was the game boy pocket with super mario land 😇 loved that system and all the games I got for it. Then later I got to add an n64 to that and loved all the rare ware games on that console sooo good! Dang dude that was another sweet episode 🥳 killin it! Loved the genesis growing up with the shinobi games, street of rage and golden axe probably being my favorite! That joshua is a pretty sweet find dude ... the game port of that one is really hard to find

I’m right there with you my first console was the sega genesis. I played the streets of rages games like crazy and nba jam. But of course as a kid you go through all the games you have regularly. Keep up the videos I always enjoy it!

I had my dad's old Super Nintendo, played so many great games on that thing, Mario All-Stars, Mario Kart, Mario World, Mortal Kombat, Pilotwings, and even less good but incredibly nostalgic games like Bubsy and Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage. The first system I was gifted brand new was the Nintendo Gamecube, and with it I got Barnyard, which is so overlooked and fun, and Super Smash Bros Melee, which needs no explaining.

NES was my first and I had super tradition education:) Mario Bros 3, TMNT 3: Manhattan Project and Jackal! My older brothers and I played Mario and Jackal all the time and never got tired of them. Amazing childhood:):)

Favorite console: Nintendo DS (lite). I love the SNES, Switch & 3DS, but the DS was such a great system! the form factor and reverse compatibility were what attracted me and the robust and diverse library kept me engaged to this day.

First console (not counting handhelt): Sega Mega Drive, bundled with Lion King. My parents and grandparents got it for me for either my birthday or Christmas. The first console I bought myself was an Xbox. That one also was the first console I killed when trying to put in a modchip. Oh, also method four: Check for defective items. I have a search window open permanently where I check for all consoles that are listed as defective. Very often what you get is not really defective, but the seller doesn't want to bother checking, has no idea how to check or assumes it's defective. Sometimes the stuff needs a good cleaning, especially Gameboy Advance that won't turn on (the on/off switch fills up with dust, contact spray helps with that and they're easy to take apart), and quite often the consoles are sold with stuff that actually works (controllers, accessories, cables, games) and that is worth way more than what you pay for it. Also a little correction: There is actually a fourth model fo the Sega Genesis, the Sega CDX. It is a Sega Genesis and a Sega CD in one console.

I was born in 85. My family got an NES around 90-91. That was my first console! I'm the youngest of 5 kids so I had to watch the big kids play and wait my turn. My mom was really good at Rad Racer. I have a distinct memory of laying in bed watching her playing it at night out in the living room - so great! After that we got a SEGA Genesis, which was a big deal cause we loved NBA Jam and Sonic. Never had a Super Nintendo so I never got into that. Anything Mario will always be my favorite though.

Awesome sega score rick!!! As a kid my aunt passed down her Nes to me with SMB3 and Bad Dudes, but as a first console I got to pick out that my parents purchased was the SNES bundle with SMW and since then I was in love with it and it will always be my top favorite console of all time!!!

I started out playing old DOS games on floppy disks. Then my siblings and I got a Gameboy to share, which ended up getting stolen at church of all places! Several years after that, my little brother spent his Christmas money on an N64 and a pile of classics from a neighborhood kid for $40. Currently, the only system I have that wasn’t swapped, stolen, or traded in from my childhood is the SNES. Most of the other systems and games I currently have, were all built up in a similar method to the $10 game collection or simply gifted to me from friends who don’t game anymore.

My first video game console was the Sega Genesis and it came with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 which kickstarted my obsession with the Sonic franchise. My dad got it when I was 4, and he also bought "X-Men 2: Clone Wars" with it because he was a huge Marvel fan, and to this day, that's his favorite video game of all time.

Technically, the Intelevision was our first console, my dad had bought it to play at sea while on deployment, he was navy. But I feel like "my" first console was the N64. It was Christmas the year it came out, and we got the console, an extra controller (green), and Super Mario 64...still to this day, the best Christmas of all time!

My parents wouldn't let us get a game system for the longest time however they finally relented when one of our friends was going to sell us his Genesis and games for $10 since he just got a Playstation. Sonic 2, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and Rocket Knight Adventures were some of my favorite games. P.S. Watching this series has inspired me to checkout Goodwill's and Pawnshops in my area. I just hit my biggest score today by finding NCAA Football 14 for PS3 for $5 at a local pawnshop.

I was a little late to the console market, as I was a commodore 64 and Amiga 500 fan, and then I bought a Megadrive or Genisis as it's called in the States. From then on I was a console guy! First Console: Wii, with Wii Fit as the first game. I also remember me and my brother didn't own it until we were older, (we ended up breaking our favorite game for the system :/) My fondest memory of video games would have to be my dad taking me to our local game store in - gosh, Florida or Texas. - He pulled out 2 games, and said we could pick which one we wanted. It was Super Mario Sluggers vs. Boom Blox Bash Party. (we chose sluggers) Just wanted to share that! Keep up the great work! :D

Nice score on the Genesis! My first was the NES, but 2nd was the Genesis. I used to look for lots on eBay that way with the newly listed/best offer, keep what I wanted and sell the rest. But I just kind of got tired of that, so now only look for single games just to keep for my collection using that method.

The Gameboy was my first system, although technically not a console. The first actual console was the NES. It was used so we slowly upgraded to the current generation by the time the Dreamcast came out.

@@retrorick It was the game we got with the system, Mario Land 2 and of course Tetris was endless fun. I got the Mario Land 2 DX cart in color in my Gameboy Advance SP right now. It's awesome to relive that nostalgia in full color. I just wish it worked on Super Gameboy so I could play it through HDMI, but it's Gameboy Color only. The battery died on our original cartridge.

My first console i remember playing was the snes, or possibly a turbografx16 but the first one at my house my brother and i shared was a ps1. Still own it, and it's still kickin to this day!

First consoles were Playstation 1 and Gameboy Colour, I got given them both at the same time and I remember that to this day, I'd never asked my Mum or Nan for anything before that but year I'd been seeing my friends playing these and asked if I could have one, but they chipped in and got me both with Pokemon Blue for my Gameboy and Spyro and Scooby Doo for Playstation, greatest Christmas ever :D

Retro Rick, initially it was Super Mario Bros, and then Excitebike. And then late in its lifecycle, it was Megaman 5 and Kirby’s Adventure, which I played almost everyday until I got my SNES in 1994.

My first console was the Atari 2600 I believe, but I remember playing games on an old IBM computer running DOS a few years before the Atari. My dad never bought a console til the price came down, so I was always a few years out of style, when I was a kid.

I guess technically Atari 2600 but that was actually my parents - NES was the first one bought for my sister and me. We had to completely mow the yard by ourselves several times in order to get it. Still have it CIB.
