I played this in Miami Florida Flippers Game Room and Arcade. A friend and I would duel for hours. We kinda hogged it and we would duel other kids to kick us off the machine. Shout to Watari Juro, creator of virtual on just retired. Thanks for all the good times. This game made a massive impression on me defined a portin of one summer break. This is truly one of the greatest arcade games ever made.

When I was a kid in PuertoRico they had one in Aguadilla Bowling alley(not the airport one) and I loved it, so cool it felt like I was inside the robot, althou it wasnt first person. Hope Arcade1up makes a cade for it

I have seen one. We had one in the Student Union at RPI. We had a tournament going G for a while. One of my friends beet the game with every character. When the tournaments started I ended up getting a win record with every character. Best record ever was 41-0 with Tenjim. Funny thing was, for the first year I played I couldn't beet the last boss. I could beet everyone at school and all the AI opponents but not him. Then I saw someone beat him and realized my mistake.

This was amazing. My arcade in calgary had one you sat in like a cockpit and it moved around, it was freaking amazing and I think at the time it was $1 or $2 per play, which at the time, when games were 25c/50c and arcades were close to dying, that was very expensive WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Mr.Gattis (or however you spell it) down in McAllen, TX had one in my youth. Maybe like 1999? Early turn of the century. Definitely one of my favorite arcade games to play of era along with Hydro Thunder and Silent Scope. Is this arcade game still in Mesquite TX?

I remember playing the arcade version of Virtual On and i had the Sega Dreamcast version. The arcade version was to me at the time like piloting a Gundam.

I saw one of these one time and one time only. I discovered the game years before even knowing the arcade machine even existed. I had the PC version for Windows that came with the purchase of an over-priced Comcrap computer (that was sold as a 233 MHZ system but was actually an over-clocked 200 MHZ chip. LOL.). This game was so mind blowing. It really took the edge off all of the blue screen experiences that the computer offered. What a wonderful memory. I can't believe they were selling the arcade machines for so much back then. That is probably why I have only seen one before. It was at a roller-skating ring that was not in my home town.

It's a shame that I've never got to play Virtual On on a cabinet in my life, they never really appeared around the UK. They were once at Sega World in London but I was born in 1997 and it shut about 3 years after I was born. It's a brilliant game, and I absolutely love the Saturn Version, and Oratorio Tangram, it's just a shame that they don't make games like these anymore. Juro Watari was awesome and I'm sad that he retired from Sega.

I don't know if it was virtual on but I live in Texas and cicis pizza had a game like it setup. But it was actually 2 set cockpit that surrounded both players with awsome surround speakers. It was twin stick controls, I can't remember the name but definitely the experience.

I had this game I the Student Union at RPI for my college ears there in Troy NY. It was there before I got there in 1997 and it was there when I graduated in 2001. I was on of the two best players on campus. I had all the top ten win records. CJ had all the top ten time records. I was consided a master because I got win records with all 8 characters.

The bowling alley in my local town in small town Iowa as a kid, had this in their entrance. it was their only arcade game, I could never remember the name. My mom was in a bowling league and every time she would bowl I would just sit up front with other parents kids playing the sh*t out of this game

Funny enough, I have seen this, I've played it too. Back in the day a casino that my family would go to had this in their arcade for the kids...the casino is now FAR more built up...I haven't been in over 5 years myself. Anyway I loved playing the game even if the computer would beat me simply cause I loved Gundam and mech stuff and it was a unique controller compared to other arcade games I was used to....much like the Pod Racing game for Star Wars...say what you will about the prequel trilogy but that arcade game was the bomb because it actually used the same kind of controls as seen in the movie while sitting you in a faux version of Anakin's Pod Racer.

I finally got the complete Sega Saturn game for $30 and I also bought a pair of twin sticks for the Sega Saturn. It is unknown if those controllers were released in America from what it was shown on the instruction manual since it was released in Japan only but region free

@@Shadows_Inc Both coin slots need to stay vertical for the coins to fall through (there is a way around this though), and if you are constantly using it, there is a bad transformer or something that displays the not enough power on only the master site (Left side). The slave site (Right side) works perfectly though.
