I know right?! Like if they only knew how impactful it is. Just walking into an arcade only being able to hear the sounds coming from some cabinet screaming for your attention. This particular one blew my mind and I wished I could of played it more but unfortunately I was too small early on playing it once before they closed the arcade completely and i never came across this one in the wild. Home consoles will be in its own arena but arcade games are definitely worthy for long lasting memories.

@@theluke3065 Without it's motion cabinet the game doesn't really have much of an appeal.

@@ForeverLacey09 Yes I agree. I remember a standing cabinet at our local gas stations it was fun but not the same experience as seeing this behemoth moving all over, especially when you get shot down it shakes till you drop and explode. Crazy mechanics!

This cabinet wins on sensory overload alone... An F14 Tomcat (best looking fighter jet ever), good soundtrack, explosions and a moving cockpit would make any man feel like Maverick.

stunnerable I was probably your age when I played this. Man what an experience. Mom didn't like going to or taking me to arcades but I nagged her to let me go to one downtown. I walked in looked at the cabinets and immediately this catches my eye. I stood there watching others play before me transfixed. I watched it move and rumble and I remember almost drooling. I finally got to play it I know I sucked horribly I didn't care just the overall experience. To me this is Sega at its finest. Not the master system not the genesis their cabinets

This thing use to have a line for good reason. By far my favorite cabinet ever it was more of an experience than just a game. We went to the local mega arcade for my friend's birthday and his dad gave us each a $100 bill and said "we can't leave until you guys spend it all". Gotta love your one rich friend ha ha! But we must have spent $50 each on this thing, one of the best gaming memories growing up.

When I was at my childtime back to the mid 90s, sometimes the rich pilots used to spend all his coins on us, the kids who queued in line or around. We used to loved those richy personals. We're full of excitement and now that our memory is squeezed I am even more excited at my 40s

One of the greatest arcade experiences you can have. Playing this in the 80’s was even more amazing because of how far ahead it was of everything you could own and play at home. You’d play this and then go home to Top Gun on the NES. Then you’d wish you were rich.

Brings back fantastic memories. There used to be one sitting in lower level of Kudamm Eck in W. Berlin, Germany back in 1989. Operating it was almost like being elevated into emotional stratosphere. Hot chocolate (old school version of energy drink) was served from the vending machine nearby. We used to drink it ( you could safely put the cup on the coin tower) and had a great time flying the fighter plane at the same time.

If I ever become rich I want my own restored arcade cabinets of Afterburner, Outrun and Power drift. Nothing beats the experience of Afterburner through. The soundtrack as you put in the coin intro and takeoff tunes always got your adrenaline pumping as a kid that you though you were Maverick. People in the 30s and 40s had the best childhood era. The 80s and 90s was the best time to grow up. The fact teenagers wear 1990s era Nike's and Jordans prove this.
