Eventough is just a fighting games, It's not easy to develop a new sequel. They have to bring a new mechanic to make it different than VF5. All they did in this revo just an updated graphic, somew new character or costume maybe. It will be much easier and faster rather than developing a new sequel. On one hand, we finally have Rollback Netcode. On the other hand, VF5 IS ALMOST 20 YEARS OLD. I love VF5, don't get me wrong. I LOVE it, I love this entire series. However, we have to move on at some point. We practically missed BOTH fighting game renaissances.

I love Virtua Fighter. It and Soul Calibur are the best 3D fighters imo. But I can't buy VF5 again. We need a new entry. I want to support this to get a future release, I really do, but it'll probably just be another VF5 in 8k/120 fps 10 years from now.

They've talked about VF6 on multiple occasions and reputable leakers have confirmed it is in the works. This just feels like an extra release to help spread VF to more platforms and also test out networking things like rollback out. This is only a positive for the fans. Every franchise has to end eventually and so even if VF6 wasn't already in the works (and it is) it is totally fine to just port existing titles to more platforms.

This way they have an out for letting a franchise rot when nobody buys the same game for the 4th time, and they just say it's because no one is interested anymore. Making you buy an old entry with the carrot of a new entry and stick of keeping the franchise dead is a trick employed by a lot of these Japanese companies like Sega and Capcom, even though it never materializes even when the remaster/collection does sell well.

The PS4 version is getting the balance update so there's nothing that would stop it, necessarily. The PS4 version would have to be retrofitted with some kind of cross-platform account system to make it work, though.

I love this game to death, and yes I will be buying it for what is now...what...the 4th time? VF5 is an actual legend, the best in its series and the hidden gem of its class. BUT FOR F%^& SAKE SEGA MOVE ON! GIVE US VF6, ITS BEEN NEARLY 20 YEARS!!! ...but no also thank you again, I love this game and this needed to be on PC so bad. 🙏

Is not the art direction but character designs as well. I like the gameplay of VF but the characters are just archetypes with 0 personality while also looking generic af

@Xerzene sadly they look like the temu version of the idea... Of fighting game characters instead of actual characters. Like in certain costumes they look good like Akira's B outfit in VF5 is amazing and elevates his character design to being genuinely amazing.... BUT ITS AN OPTIONAL CUSTOM THEY ONLY USED IN THE LASTEST INSTALLMENT. I really feel like they need to up there character design game up like I know supposed to be based on action movies so there more grounded ..... But I've seen generic action movie Gi joe knockoffs with more visual appeal to them.
