decent game based on a bad movie... the fact that it doesn't follow the movie very well is a GOOD thing! (in alien 3's case; speaking here of the Genesis version, I never really cared for the SNES version). Batman isn't the greatest game but it had a lot of style and was way better than the barely playable Batman Returns on genesis (but the CD game's batmobile expansion was like a game unto itself and pretty cool)

Wait you didn't like Aladdin's sound track but you the smooth game play made up for it? I mean taste is one thing, but you really should have mentioned that the sound track is actually considered a selling point to most. It's a really good sound track especially the original tracks, they put a lot effort into getting the sound track right, which sure is a matter of taste, but despite your taste most people would probably enjoy the sound track. Also in my opinion, I think the one part they did ok in, but it's clear that this wasn't the focus, and this backed up with the history, was the gameplay. They needed a pretty game that sounded good, and played well while looking good. They did a really good job, but it isn't the best platformer by a long shot.

@theblah125 жыл бұрын
In a lot of cases it's simply a lack of time - nobody sets out to make a bad game, but when you're forced to get the game out before the movie's release date and the budget for the project simply wasn't high enough to begin with, there's not much you can do. It's not really the developer's fault in most cases. Plus, at least for the merely mediocre titles there's still a lot of people who have fond memories of those games when they were younger, even if they pale in comparison to the best games on the system.

(Dude, I used to rent the shit out of that game as a kid and never beat it but got to Cyberdyne, lucky if I don't die in the desert car segment though, you hadn't even gotten the guns and you get them in THAT OPENING LEVEL... The first Terminator game had worse level design than that as you fight a Ground and Aerial HK with just grenades is "quite playable" in comparison? You can't blanket multiple games like that. How each game feels, how fast it plays, how interesting the concepts are can dramatically effect one to another. I can tell you that Golden Axe was a fun arcade port but that I thought Double Dragon was a mess on the Genesis. They are so similar to one another in genre, how can one beat'em up be good and one be so terrible? How easily one picks a game up and does well can be a major point of difference. Yes, T2 was awful to me and I much preferred the first one. Hook's gameplay was too slow and floaty and since the dude COULDN'T fly in those game segments, it made the on foot action feel bad. Judge Dredd and Demolition Man were entirely different feeling games. I mean I can go on but each of these have nuisances and differences you just can't gloss over. You also seem to be looking for expanded details in a video covering a crazy amount of games. In this video I'm able to drop a few sentences with an opinion or two before I move on. If you want in depth reviews, you should likely stick with the vids that focus on just one game.

9 minutes in so far...I don't know why "Bram Stoker's Dracula" is such a debatable game. I think it's a great horror game on the Genesis compared to others. Not all of us were blessed with having Castlevania games growing up, so this was a great substitute. Also the music for it was superb...the boss fights are a little easy and some of the enemy placements are annoying/unfair, but it's definitely a good game to have in the collection and not a pass imo.

Ghostbusters (Phantasy Star 2 and Altered Beast) was my first Genesis game. I really enjoyed the game and the large headed Ghostbusters. Seeing the video I remember all those scenes, played the he'll put of it. Took me forever to finish. Moonwalk was another good game surprisingly. It was beyond weird, bit that's why I liked it. It had a lot of small details, the moonwalking, variety of dances, the mech suit, etc... My favorite part was MJ tossing the coin into the Jukebox. Something about it just got me.

Terminator 2 the arcade game, Rambo III, Predator 2, Moonwalker, Aladdin, Ghostbusters, Pinocchio, Dick Tracy, all three Jurassic Parks, Toy Story, Pocahontas and Power Rangers the Movie were the best for me. Alien 3, and Hook were decent.

Interesting bit of trivia about the Batman Forever Mega Drive/Genesis game. At the end of the level two, the crooks you fight on top of the safe are all named after the 1995 England Rugby World Cup squad.

Universal Soldier is indeed Turrican II (whereas Mega Turrican was Turrican III but not made by the original creator), i didn't played this version but the open level of the II were always better than the third one for me.

This was a great video, and I appreciated the high point at the very end with Wayne's World.

You were much more merciful to "Wayne's World" than the AVGN was. Some recommendations for future videos are below: Genesis games based on television shows like "Star Trek: The Next Generation: Echoes from the Past," "Beavis and Butthead," and "Bart's Nightmare." Saturn film games like "The Lost World," "Independence Day," "Die Hard Trilogy," and "Street Fighter: The Movie."

You mention the different sound drivers frequently in this video, but I don't know what the differences are. Maybe that's a future video topic you could cover?

Nicely done man. Thoroughly done.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day had some interesting ideas with an open world map you'd to travel around trying to complete different objectives. If they'd refined the content a bit and improved the controls it could have been cool.

Hey Man, I love your videos but Alladdin has an amazing soundtrack. I was actually humming it the other day.

I always loved batman returns. Yes, almost unfair in difficulty but sollid feeling game play and batman feels like he is a real and heavy person instead of a featherlight character that jumps all over the place with ease.

The grappling hook was fun too. I liked how dark and mature it was too.

Back to the Future 3 on genesis. I rented that, and hated it so much. I got decent at the first stage, but I got so mad at howI'd have to re-do that first stage so many times. Later on in life I went through with an emulator and beat the game. Very unfulfilling life I lead

I like Batman Returns, for some reason, and Judge Dredd was awesome to me. I really liked Terminator on Sega CD.
