Gun/cannon spike is a great game, I think that Psikyo were devleoping their own style on the saturn/ps1 era and during the dreamcast era they finally had their own unique style for shoot em ups. Pity they went out of buisness, they're one of my favourite developers and I've got a lot of great memories with their games, especially saturn ones. 4 player for gigawing 2 is amazing, it's the best part of the game to me. It's a lot easier but still very fun. Only shoot em up I know that's for 2+ players. You're the first person I've seen use Ralugo in gigawing 2 by the way.

There was a modified port of Capcom Vs SNK 2 for the OG Xbox, ps2 and NGC called Capcom vs SNK 2: EO in North America that added a new “easy operation” control scheme and 4 more characters. I have played the DC original and the EO version on Xbox and NGC and they all play fabulously. In fact the entire Japanese version of the game is included on the Xbox “exhibition 2.0” “demo” disc

MSG: Federation Vs Zeon is a fun and challenging game. Tons of nostalgia for any UC Gundam fans. The music feels kind of cheesy at first, but after a while you really feel like you're in the One Year War! I got it on PS2 too so I could play the story mode. It's cheap on PS2, but I do think it's smoother and more colorful on the Dreamcast. 2019 marked Gundam's 40th anniversary making it a great time to play it.

The dreamcast is a system that I have bought over and over due to me burning it out from playing with my friends. My favorite fighting games that we played were: 1. Rival Schools 2: Project Justice 2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New age of heroes 3. Dead or Alive 2 4. SoulCalibur 5. Capcom vs snk 2 These videos have reminded me I need to invest in a new dreamcast lol.

I wish Gta5 was released for psx because i love that console, T_T

@@kefkahkefkah Because unlike your examples the Dreamcast and the PlayStation 2 were contemporaries with similar hardware capabilities. The OP even named very early PlayStation 2 titles that overlapped with the Dreamcast's late lifespan. They could have been released in near-identical form across both platforms just like Rez, Space Channel 5: Part 2, Puyo Puyo Fever... even Kidou Senshi Gundam: Renpou vs. Zeon & DX from this very video. You're sitting here making fun of the OP, but what they said is nothing like thinking Starfox should have been on NES or Final Fantasy XV should have been on the Saturn or whatever. I agree that at this point it's all just spilled milk and nothing to stay upset over, but these games would have been near-identical on the Dreamcast, and it was only market conditions that kept it from happening.

@OriginalName905 жыл бұрын
@@eddytowers For the Gundam game, sure, but El Dorado Gate wasn't a Naomi conversion and that series was seeing releases on Dreamcast after Devil May Cry was released for PlayStation 2. As for Sega games, high-profile releases like Rez, Space Channel 5: Part 2, and Sakura Taisen 4 weren't Naomi conversions either. I'm not saying it's unbelievable they didn't make it to the Dreamcast, I'm just saying that thinking it would have been nice if they had like the OP was saying isn't nearly as ridiculous as that one response made it out to be. No crazier than Capcom putting Street Fighter Zero 3, Dungeons & Dragons Collection, and Final Fight Revenge out on Saturn way after the Dreamcast had been released.

Mobile Gundam: Federation vs Zeon DX got a slightly improved US release on PS2. The only real "upgrade" is slightly (and I mean slightly) improved graphics on some stages over the original PS2 and Dreamcast JP release. I had no idea the DC version got PS2 crossplay. That's just awesome! It also has a "campaign" mode on the Western PS2 release that I totally forgot about, although it doesn't really add much.
@yukatoshi5 жыл бұрын
@arbereshe The USA PS2 version? If you mean that then yeah, it plays and runs fine. However, some of the new Western voice samples are bloody awful lol. I prefer it on the Dreamcast tbh.
@newtypepunk99675 жыл бұрын
@arbereshe far from it, I have a ton of Gundam games and yes there are some awful ones, but theirs some real gems for fans with most of the games. The Gundam vs series is probably one the best long running Gundam series of games. If anything only the PS4 Gundam game was a bit of miss for me, all the rest are awesome, I'd also recommend Gundam vs Zeta Gundam for the PS2, it has everything Fed vs Zeon had and so much more.
@christopherpope9615 жыл бұрын
The ps2 version also got allowed you to play as some mobile armors and had a campaign mode that was missing from the DC version, so it's a fair upgrade in my opinion. That said, the dreamcast version is still awesome.

Speaking of which...it's super under-appreciated! I've always wanted to see it get more acknowledgement, and I think the only Capcom crossover fighter that had any characters from Rival Schools or Project Justice was Capcom vs. SNK 2!

I totally agree with you. Capcom released a lot of games on the Dreamcast in such a short time. They were all hits in their own rights, too. Some bigger than others, and no real misses in the library. Some of those arcade ports were better on the Dreamcast than their original CPS2/ CPS3 hardware. The Dreamcast was perfect for arcade style gaming, 2D or 3D. Kind of like a 6th generation version of the PCE when compared to the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. I have a suggestion for Midway on the Dreamcast. They actually released a lot of arcade styled games too for the system.

Federation vs Zeon along with Gundam 0079: Rise from the Ashes really scratched my itch for good mech games on the Dreamcast. Despite its short life span, it really was a system that had something for all tastes. The Dreamcast was also a great system for people who wanted to dip their toes into imports, without breaking the bank. Thanks to whoever came up with the boot disc, all you needed to try out a $80+S&H game was a blank CD-R and some patience.

Hah I sorta called it in a previous video, and here it is; Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo really plays great on the DC and turbo 0 really makes it feel silky smooth. Too bad it has the same unfair AI that most ports of this game do in Arcade mode (if you go through some hoops to set 2P as the CPU using a secret menu and play versus mode instead, you get a fair difficulty though). Also worth noting is that from what I can tell, the Saturn port of Super Turbo doesn't have a cheating AI; it plays similarly to the AI in Super Street Fighter.

I got the same Virtual On vibe from Heavy Metal, specifically when the one character starts using that laser sword. It was a second or two before you said the same thing, so it's a strong resemblance, it seems. I don't recall Capcom's Gundam game, and it looks like the kind of game I'd like. I had the other Gundam game that was more of a Mechwarrior style mech sim. Cannon Spike might have also interested me at the time, but I don't recall hearing or seeing much about it. I'm surprised to hear how much praise you have for the backgrounds in Capcom vs. SNK 2. Not that I assumed we'd have the same opinion. And I don't have any problem with your take -- it's just opinions. It's just that we're on the opposite ends of the spectrum here. I really disliked Capcom's 3D stages in general. I always found they incorporated too much motion and many gimmicks that took away from the action. That desert rally stage is one of my least favorite backgrounds in any fighting game. But that's just me, and my opinion is no more valid than yours on that. We also agree on many other things. I definitely prefer 2D backgrounds in general. Regardless, this was an interesting series and I learned about some games that slipped by me. And excellent work as usual.
