I'm really glad Joan Rivers was a polite interviewer, a sponge even. Because nowadays if a person like Denise were to come to an interview, Bible in hand, and bash the psychic practices and say "I was demon possessed. Its evil. The Bible is the truth" people would be laughing like they are in the comments below, calling her crazy and not taking the warning. Look at the people in the audience; they look respectful and receptive. Doesn't mean they all went down to church and got saved, but at least they respected her message. I love her for her courage and devotion to God. It is amazing to see.

You have to remember that most people back then were at least Christian on some level. There's more diversity now and recognition of this. It's not about what the person believes. it's when people start projecting their beliefs onto others (like she did here) that we now recognized as a problem

Joan Rivers felt bad for her and didn't want to humiliate her on her show, and trust me...she could have. Joan was always sweeter to guests that where otherwise ridiculed when they went on all the other talk shows. Like the Club Kids for exemple. She was a sweetheart to gay men and drag queen and especially women. So please...wake up and smell the real world. There are no demons or magic...theres just you.

May she rest in God's peace. Not everyone will understand her experience, it's a personal relationship with God and it's so beautiful she left that life that was destroying her. So good of her to speak in public.

There are no guarantees except for the blood of Christ who shed for us. Just because you get saved doesn't mean all your problems go away. He promises eternal life; not peace on earth.

I’m a recovering Catholic. I found my spiritual satisfaction. I’m glad she found her spiritual satisfaction. She nearly died from drugs. I think Denise knew what she was up against during this interview. I’ll admit it took some getting used to seeing her fully dressed. Rest In Peace Vanity. I miss you.

I was drop dead in love "Vanity" - she was my poster girl - I even wrecked my car trying to see her signing autographs as she was promoting her album "Wild Animal" at Tower Records in Hollywood.. but to hear her talk about seeing Demon's Sleeping in her bed and seeing them walking around in her bedroom - is sort of disturbing to hear 30 some years later.. bcz she's saying this stuff... completely Sober.. and did she really need to bring her bible with her just to sit and talk with Joan Rivers?? I mean did she even notice that the "Demons" stopped sleeping in her bed and walking around in her bedroom after she stopped doing drugs?? poor girl ended up losing her life as a result of past drug addictions - but you can see by some of the things she says that happened to her - were also written into the script for Purple Rain .. RIP "Beautiful One".. "The Beautiful one's always smash the picture.. always.. every time"!!

I dont think she was on the wrong show... Joan actually allowed her to project herself for God and actually listened to her while asking hard life questions that we all face... I think the stark contrast between the two women here allows us to make a clear distinction for the truth that we want to live or believe..Class interview and you got to give it to Joan for not being condescending whatsoever in her approach... Denise also did a great job here... Class interview for me!!!

I never understand why people can't keep their beliefs to themselves. don't get on my post saying "God is not real" I never asked for your opinion and every time someone says something against him I simply reply "I believe" NOTE the I. if you don't that's your business. to me Jesus is real, God is real the Holy Ghost is real...don't like it don't respond to it. God bless you Denise and I believe you made it home

+daniesabria Of all the deaths of stars in 2016 Vanity was shocking young as she is. I really believe Vanity knows Jesus. I knew that Oprah had a where they are now shows in the 90s and Denise declined to be interviewed about Vanity. That let's you know she has to be serious about her walk. I hope she is enjoying her reward

daniesabria I didn't know her personal story. I heard her music in the 80s and her acting career. She came along when I was in high school. She was sexy back then not the raunchiness, lack of taste, of today's women singers. She is one of the reasons I am not gay. The real point is I always liked her then but loved her even more that she chose Jesus. Jesus didn't condemn her and I won't either. She will be missed

People make fun of christians when they talk and act like this. I can say that you will never understand unless you truly experience God. It’s like being locked up your whole life and someone comes and opens the door and you get to experience life for the first time. You’re excited bc you’re finally free and you want others to experience that freedom too. It’s such a beautiful feeling and it’s a feeling that only God can give. When you experience it you know no other feeling compares.
