Coincidentally I have just started reading a book about Kamikaze and then this come out, but the best part about this is, that your thumbnail is the same person from the interview in the book (the picture of him in the book and the thumbnail one is the same) and the best part is that the guy surrived the war

@andreasmuller5185
@andreasmuller5185 3 жыл бұрын
I only known the German title: "Kamikaze - Todesbefehl für JAPANS Jugend" (Kamikaze - Death Sentence for the Japanese Youth???) How he surrived : after he was flying with tears in his eyes to his destination, he was attacked by American planes who already saw him coming (radar), he then was hit multiple times (just the plane), after that his plane began to lose altitude and the black motor-oil covered his whole cockpit. The Americans thought he was going to crash into the ocean and left him alone. That saved his live. He then was able to land on an island (Okinawa I think). After his hard landing he was attacked again by planes but managed to jumb out of the plane on time. His plane then catched fire and exploded 10 seconds later. His destiny wanted him to surrive. By the way, his name was Kenichiro Onuki.

Thank you Gesche and Karl, beautiful song! Your post reminds me this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIKrn6V4drSZgMk It's from the movie "The eternal zero", I'm sure you know it, with music by Thomas Bergersen "Two steps from hell". For most of us it's difficult to understand the Japanese mentality and culture. Even less the kamikaze's spirit of sacrifice.
