Thanks, David. I try. Unfortunately, there is no finished product with this one. I don't trust any glue joint in the piece. Billy

What grit of sandpaper do you use in your drumsander when sanding Corian?

Mama said there'd be days like this. I am glad you know better than to be in the line of fire. I shudder to think of what could have happened. Very happy you were not hurt too badly, Billy. You really put a lot into it and didn't quit when the going got rough, so there is that said about your character, it is also wise to know when to stop as well. Brilliant performance all around this video... It is sad you don't have something to show for all the work you put in, but you made the right call. I know that feeling all too well. Kudos to you Billy. I cannot think anyone would fault you, I can only imagine them taking the lesson, and being very grateful that you weren't hurt much worse.

Thank you so much, Luanna! I'm pretty persistent and don't like to let things beat me, but this one... well, discretion is the better part of valor and I don't trust ANY of the glue joints in what's left now. So I'm not going to let it hurt me or break anything else in the shop. LOL Billy

Good job, that sounds like wisdon\m borne of experience. I believe you when you say you are persistent. I am watching you turn a chunk of a Tragedy into a beautiful walnut bowl. You are fun to watch and listen to. Gonna get back to it before my salad is done. LOL Nice reply Thank you, Luanna

That was crazy! Maybe it has been asked, but maybe the Corian was not porous enough? Great video Billy!

That is a huge shame, Billy. I’m just happy that you weren’t severely injured. I haven’t done much with corian and I might be tempted to keep it that way! Thanks for a valuable lesson, my friend! Stay safe! .....Gord

Yes, I've used it successfully on pens for years. It just took longer than I expected to cure in the colder temperature.

I'm a new subscriber here at your channel. Having worked with Corian countertop material, I think that sanding the glue surfaces might help. Also, Corian makes their own glue that holds better than any other. My first encounter with Corian was with a piece of countertop edge of the ugliest dark blue & white speckles, given to me by a friend. I made a pen by drilling the 7 mm hole right on the centerline, where the front had been glued to the top, and it held together through the drilling & turning. I've used ca glue on pen tubes and Corian & they always seperated. Anyway. .........food for thought. J.O.M.O.

Thanks, Jim. I've used bot CA and epoxy successfully with Corian in the past. I did rough sand the surfaces to give the glue something to bite on. I really think it was the temperature. Billy

Hi Billy, That is a great shame as I have never seen a bowl from Corian. My shop is constantly at around 44 F at the moment so way past time to get the heater in before I do anything in there with glue or resin. Looking forward to Mark 2. Cheers, Huw

Sorry she didn’t work out Billy! But you can say you tried everything within your power to make it work. And really that’s all that matters. Might look into if corian resists glue, cause that sure sounds like the problem. Any way you cut it though, nice try!

That was a great try. Sorry you wound up with an opportunity for spiritual growth! The safety police will probably decide the cut on your arm was due to wearing gloves on your hands. Those surgical gloves fit close and will not get grabbed by the lathe, and would fail before dragging you into the machine. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, Pat. It happens. Some things work out, some do not. And I'm not too worried about the safety police. LOL Billy
