@@tomsgadgetgarage Suspension is better than I was expecting , the wider bars vs G2 max are a plus , the larger tires is nice . Even without boost acceleration feels better than max g2 with boost . The boost function only working once though on the ZT is goofy though they need to change that . I also like the brakes much better on ZT vs G2 max .

@@asilaydying1984 yah I’m hoping they add the boost function as an option for the red custom button. Having to hold the brake and press the throttle isn’t great for scenarios where you might need the extra power on the fly.

Excellent video man. So this one does the clunk sound too like the MAX G2. On my max G2 it does it only when i go over a cracked road area or the train tracks but other than that it does pretty well. I do like this this ZT3 goes 24Mph realistically. Those extra 2 miles per hour makes a difference in performance and Boost mode acceleration is almost 2 seconds faster across the board. 😎👌
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Thank you! Yah the clunk sound is the exact same behavior as the G2. I’ve noticed it on other coil spring only scooters. And like you said, it only happens when going over deep cracks in the road or something particularly abrupt. I really like the acceleration in sport mode. It starts off a bit slow but then kicks into high gear. Kind of reminds me of the acceleration profile on the InMotion Climber.

@capelaamidlenite909415 күн бұрын
This scooter seems fantastic, but has some drawbacks. I start making a list: - no hydraulic forward suspension unlike the G2, lesser rear susps. - you can just attach one phone holder to the handling bar, and forget all the rest (led lamp, horn, etc). - forget the subway, the bus, and even some elevators (vertical position mandatory in some EU ones) - forget handling it by hand - no improved range compared to G2, and risks of reduced range if activating the (thrilling) 1600W mode.
@tomsgadgetgarage15 күн бұрын
Yah I’m considering upgrading the rear shock with a hydraulic one. We’ll see. I need to find something that fits.

That was a great first run! I loved how it rode for you! Having the axle behind the fork adds a ton of stability through simple caster, not unlike your car or shopping cart wheel. It gives the effect of wanting to straighten the wheel again any time the front wheel is turned, so it's trying to correct itself to straight again, which is pretty cool. Should be nice for coming back down South Mountain. Cool stuff, Tom!

My only concern at this point is how bright the headlights are. I ordered mine, says it won’t be here till Dec 6th, but I have to ride through a dark trail in the evenings and every scooter I’ve had I needed to use a good aftermarket light. I just returned the big GT1 because it was too big and heavy to reasonably commute with, but that thing had an amazing headlight! If this headlight is anything like that, I’ll be satisfied.

On your phone you can get an incline measuring app. When you film yourself going up a steep hill it doesn't show well on camera. It would be cool if you could tell us the hill is say 15° in incline so we have a reference. Thanks.
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
I can definitely include that in future videos. I’ve tried with my iPhone measure app but you have to account for the side buttons because they don’t make a level surface haha. I will test this out on a grade I know to be 23% though. Probably in the coming weeks. Not sure it’ll make though as that hill is a beast.

What is the best company that makes scooters in your opinion? Thanks
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Hey! A few that I’ve tested in the sub $1200 range are Segway, NIU, Ausom, Apollo, Punk Electric, and InMotion. All scooters I’ve tested from those companies have been solid. I’ve also heard great things about Nami scooters. I actually had the opportunity to test one out this past weekend from a fellow rider and was blown away by how smooth everything was on that scooter. It’s considerably more expensive than something like the ZT3 Pro, but it really feels worth it haha. Another thing to look at is customer service. Thankfully I haven’t really needed to contact support with any of the scooters so far (knock on wood haha). Also, when looking at scooters, see if they sell replacement parts. Sometimes with new scooters parts are scarce at launch, but see if they offer parts for older models. That way you know you’re covered if something breaks.

@Patriot36Ай бұрын
That was some serious juice drainage to 3 bars over 13mi... assuming the power bars represent the voltage in linear fashion. I guess you'd be able to tell that by watching the voltage through the app. Like the Apollo Go, I suspect the range window will have a huge delta depending on how much current is pulled and how often. The Go can pull 1500W from a 540Wh battery, the Z43 can pull 1600W from a 597Wh battery which is impressive for those respective sizes. Most commuters see nowhere near those ratios of current draw to battery watt-hours. Dual motor sport scooters do but it doesn't matter as much because there are enough watt-hours in those larger batteries to accommodate average ride distances. I'm super excited to see how is does in the TGG range test and TGG "mountain climb!"

The Segway ZT3 Pro or the Punk Rider Pro? Which would be the best for someone who who wants to ride around my neighborhood and neighborhood park areas (?) who wants to be able to change their own tires?
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
That’s a great question. I was actually looking at both side by side just a moment ago haha. The Punk Rider Pro outperforms this scooter in terms of speed, raw power, range, and lighting. The ZT3 Pro has better acceleration in all intervals from 0-20mph in boost mode, but falls behind the Punk Rider Pro on the 0-25mph. Punk also goes 32mph. The app is light years better on the Segway and you have more customization capabilities. The Punk has self healing tires whereas the ZT3 Pro does not. Punk also has split rims which makes tire changes much easier.

Thank you! I know there have been ways around this on other Ninebot scooters, but I’m not aware of anything at the moment for the ZT3 Pro. The 15.5mph restriction is unfortunate. Are you sure the clunking in the back is the fork? And not mediocre bushings? Another reviewer mentioned that
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
It’s coming from the rear spring assembly. Same noise as the Max G2. It only surfaces when going over something particularly abrupt. I’ve noticed it on other non hydraulic coil spring suspensions from other brands. The front suspension on the other hand doesn’t make that noise. It’s actually way more plush than I expected. Even though it sometimes makes the clunk noise, it’s still a comfortable ride. I’d prefer not to hear the noise though. I may take apart the rear suspension and take a closer look.

So it’s not so much that it’s stiff. It’s actually quite comfortable. It’s just the rebound when going over rough bumps or cracks in the road at higher speed. It makes a clunk sound which is what I’ve seen in other coil only suspensions. It doesn’t impact the performance of the scooter, just a bit noisy.

if only the mile range was higher i would've sold my max g2 and bough this, probably, as it has 48v instead of 36v so speed wouldn't diminish with lower battery %, which is my biggest issue of G2. i really dig the modern high end scooter look it has for similar price of max g2 that looks kinda identical to some rental scooters just in black colour lol. Sadly, all videos i saw with heavier/lighter riders, the range is just terrible.
