Interesting. Never used the session players so far, except the drummer, which I use in my songs generally. But I want to make my music myself, ideas that come from me and not from a machine. So for instance I would not have my music created by AI, because it’s not my music then. Nevertheless it’s interesting to know what one can do with the session players. Thanks for this video. I watch most (all?) of your videos, because I can always learn from them!

I love the AI tools in the latest version of Logic, but need to upgrade from OS 12 to OS 13 (on my Trash Can Mac) to get it. Since I recently upgraded to 12, I'm not ready to do this just yet. Instead, I'm more than likely going to get EZKeys 2 as a way of bypassing this and still having some smart form of accompaniment to begin writing. Still trying to determine how long I'll keep the TC Mac before getting an M2 Mac Studio, since that with roughly 32 or 64 gb is all I should ever need. As always, I thoroughly enjoy your channel and all of the Logic Pro tips that you have. I also appreciate that you're not so much into covering new VSTs that one "needs" to get to write music. There are so many free offerings available (Spitfire LABS, Crow Hill Vaults, Fracture Sounds Blueprint series, Project Sam The Free Orchestra I and II, and many more) that can give one more than enough tools to make great music. Cheers!

Hugs. I am a mixing engineer and I currently work a lot in Studio One and I recently purchased Logic Pro. I have seen your video and I must say that I think your way of explaining how this DAW works is excellent. I must also say that your English sounds beautiful and clean. Congratulations.

Went to a party outside my city and got the laptop with me, I wanted to mess around with these, ended up making a full EP with a rhymer, of course editing heavily at home, but this was a game changer. Now I am making a one hour track using the Emergence plug, Panflow and Gatelab and it's all self generating, freakin' Logic!!!

I noticed you don't use the Enter button as an RTZ shortcut. Also, did you know you can have multiple session regions mixed with 1 MIDI region and, as long as you select the whole track, you can view your session regions as MIDI regions while still being able to adjust the session parameters in the Editor?

Does the latest version of Logic Pro have splice or loop integration to make it easier to find beats, loops or atmospherics based on your tempo, key, etc? I saw Presonus Studio One 7 integrates with splice?

You can change the drum kit right away without converting to midi. Also if using swing always have them the same number, also 8th and 16th. I wonder if there is a way to globally change tracks and regions somehow. Everytime I change something, like pop rock to funk rock it's always back to default swing.

This is my own personal opinion, and I have nothing against people who use methods like this to make music. I'm all for anyone who does whatever they need or want to do to enjoy making music. But for me, I wouldn't feel I would be justified in saying that a song is completely my own if I ever used any form of AI. I'm also a writer (as in literature), and I feel the same way with that also. All I use AI for when writing is simple proofreading to spot any typos, spelling mistakes, etc. But as soon as you start to use AI for any kind of creation, then the creation is no longer your own. That's fine if it doesn't bother you. As I said, it's just personal opinion. But for me, music (and writing) is all about self-expression, and I want to own every note that I play and every word that I write, no matter how good or bad it is. It's more important for me to be able to say "I did that" than it is to use AI to create something perfect, whilst knowing, deep down, it is not fully my own creation. As I said, each to their own, and I'm not in any way hating on anyone who uses AI. Making music should be all about having fun, and if that means using AI, great. But for me, I prefer to avoid it. Happy music making, everyone! ❤

Nice presentation and interesting to see how the session player can be used. BUT, to my ears the results sound totally random. Logic can do a good job with EQ and of course the timing of the players will always be spot on (you can humanize but even that is pretty random) so it all kinda fits together but in the end it sounds like musical gibberish. In the end it seems like a fun gimmick but is there really a demo in there. I don't think so.

I'd never follow this approach, because although I do use Logic Pro I actually want to _write_ my music. However, there's certainly value here if you're looking to quickly construct a backing track so that you can showcase your singing or playing of an instrument over the top of it. Although Seids does mention that option towards the end, I think that's the context that doesn't quite come across.

At what point did music creation become music “assembly”, not requiring any actual real musical talent? As someone who has studied music his entire life - thousands of hours of practice, so much $$$ in lessons/tuition, etc. it’s hard for me to fully get behind tools that make it this easy - with results sounding not all that terrible. The scariest part is that AI will make this, along with most every creative endeavor , even easier for those without any training. Of course is it a human creating or machine creating?! So many ethical questions! Great video though don’t take my comments as criticism, just rhetoric.

Digital photography did the same thing to professional photographers who had spent decades honing their craft. There is no getting around the fact that A.I. is going to change the face of employment in the future. Medical diagnostic programs can already home in on probable disease based on test results and symptoms. The world is changing in ways we cannot yet imagine. I’m glad I’m old and not going to be here for it. I fear for my children and grandchildren though.

It is depressing how quickly automation is being adopted as a substitute for skill and creativity. And I think those who are insisting that the output will never be "good" are deluding themselves. It's already improving, and will continue to do so. For people trying to make a career out of writing or drawing or producing music, there's definitely a real material threat to their income. I'm grateful I'm not in that position. For the rest of us, the amateurs, I think it's more a matter of pride - and that's easier to deal with so long as you have the right perspective. I think of it as a sliding scale, with "Creator" at one end and "Consumer" at the other. Most musicians, even the real maestros at the "Creator" end of the scale, already benefit from technology in some form. I'm somewhat further along - I'm not a very talented player nor much of a multi-instrumentalist, and I've embraced DAWs like Logic Pro to help me realise my vision. What I _can_ do is write, and personally speaking I don't want a computer algorithm to design so much as a single note or beat on my behalf - I just can't see the pleasure in that. Likewise, no matter how "good" it gets, I don't want to _listen to_ music designed by a machine - the very thought of it leaves me cold. So from that perspective I don't feel threatened by AI. Just because a computer can produce music that sounds as appealing as yours does not diminish your talent or skill in any way. You are still a self-sufficient creator. And the more people use automation to produce "their" music, the further from your niche they get. Ultimately, they stop being creators and just become consumers, and there's nothing special about that at all.
