I have an original Pogue!!! My dad brought from a business trip to El Salvador, I was in 5th grade. Man, the stories I have with my watch which still looks extremely cool, runs pretty well and use it daily. It is really a surprise that it was sufficiently famous to make a new edition

It’s a nice watch, but I don’t’ understand why they wouldn’t use the case from the SRPK17, which is nearly identical to the original. They could have added gold subdial and it would have been identical homage. I do understand the reasoning with the reliability of the solar movement…

I generally like the style of stuff from the 1960’s and 70’s, so this was right up my alley. I bought one in Japan last month and have been very happy with it. I have even had people ask if it was a vintage watch, so the color combo definitely has 1970’s vibes.

the date window is not only cheap looking for this price range, in the closeup shots it is machined so inconsistently in the corners and sides making it look like a rounded square often found in $50 aliexpress homages. As the owner of a true Pogue, I would call this a NuPogue. Like the NuBeetle of 1998, it's not real. Rather a modern reinterpretation. I like it and might wear one to allow my 1971 watch to remain in its safe place. That said, my EDC watch at the moment is a first production version of the Bulova Lunar Pilot. As that would be relatively easy to replace, I don't see any real harm in wearing it. A watch made the same month as Bill's would be much more difficult to come by.
