Yes. The buckle done that way is the right way. Is much more ergonomic to take off and on because the clasp is closest to the right hand. Easier access.

Really can’t decide between this and the SPB319J1. Not sure if the dial on this is just too busy for a dress watch. Plus the blue leather strap seems a bit much, but then I’ve never seen it in the flesh!

I put deployant buckles on all my straps and always flip the tail side up to 12 & buckle side down to 6. Feels more natural as the buckle then opens/closes like a metal bracelet.

Yes, humour is a good way to begin. I have both the classic 033 and 035. Keepers. I have seen this watch in person. Very nice dial. I doubt the hands are heated blue. They're like those in my enamelled dial. Don't know how they are made. I have 3 enamelled dials and 3 urushi lacquer. I like the urushi lacquer a lot. Would love to see the porcelain dial on the 6L35.

Seiko is really unique in that they do Enamel and Porcelain at reasonable prices. I wish that they did some Grand Seikos in enamel. I got to look at this model and some enamel watches when I lived in Japan. I personally found the porcelain dials to be a bit of a let down in person and a bit dull. The white enamel that they do on the other hand is amazing! There is no comparison side-by-side. I can understand the draw to porcelain and it’s historical importance in Japan and Asia, but I would give this watch a pass. Great review though! Also apparently the tail of the watch strap when worn in the typical Western style - pointing away from you - is seen as aggressive - in Japanese culture. I was told that you never point at anyone with your finger. So maybe that’s the thought behind it?

Beautiful watch, but way to thick. I’ve owned it twice and sold it twice, I wanted to love this so badly but just couldn’t get past how thick it is. I hope they come out with a thinner porcelain watch with subdials, I’ll be all over it.

Nice video. Love mine. It's on a Staib mesh and looks flash. The movement stripes are known as Tokyo stripes. Geneva stripes don't mean much outside of Geneva ha ha. Hands are not heat blued. Can tell by the appearance.

Great review! I think the diver looks a bit smaller because of the bezel so the dial itself is smaller despite having the same case size. This makes the watch looks a bit smaller.

Love the dial, hands and general design BUT it's to thick and large, it needs to be 38mm / 10mm. Pushing £2k you can get alot of other options.

Put a watch on your wrist and just look at the watch... When you put on any wristwatch other than a seiko, you have to either twist your wrist in an unnatural position, or you pull the watch towards you. Either way is not a good sign of craftman-ship or direct approval. Then, just change the position of the straps and...voilá, your watch will be in the perfect position for watching the time-piece, without strange movements of your wrist or any other additional motions. When on a motorbicycle your watch must be immidiately visible when you look at it. Try it out and you'll know! Thanks for the review. A work of art, and i am focusing on the dial itself!

Seiko is right when they put their deployants like that. Orient does it too. I do it whenever I have a "swing arm" deployant. It sits better on the bottom of the wrist, and it's ergonomically easier to feed the end into the keepers.

I started my watch journey just a few months ago. My fiance bought me a Seiko chronograph 8T67 for christmas and since then, I've bought 3 more Seikos. I fully intend to add a bunch more Seiko watches to my collection and the Presage line is likely where my next purchase will be. I love those porcelain and enamel dials. That said, can you do a review on the new 140th anniversary Astron SSH083? That is currently my 'holy grail' watch and I'm constantly wrestling with what my next watch will be...I commented on one of your videos that I had my eye on the SBDL083, and here I mentioned I want one of the Presage watches and the Cherry Blossom Astron. Lol what a life.

Ha ha, that intro seemed familiar! And nicely filmed! That porcelain is hard to capture. Beautiful watch, but I think they're a bit big for a dress watch - 38 would be super classy. Also, I think they're over-branded. Seiko logo has got bigger and I don't see the need for the Presage (like Prospex) sub-brand. The wrong way for a deployant is deffinatly the right way! Sits better on the bottom of your wrist, well for me anyway.

I definitely prefer the orientation of the clasp as Seiko intended. I prefer bracelets so opening a deployant clasp in the other direction just feels counter-intuitive.
