An awesome watch ('Dark Emperor?') - for me, the ultimate professional spec dive watch and the ultimate practical iteration of the Tuna line. There simply is no better pure dive watch made, now or ever!

Yes - I've switched back to a PVD shark mesh. Holds the heavier head a lot easier. 🍻

@@djpharoah7XL was the isofrane not comfortable ? I was actually thinking yo get this and pair it with an isofrane strap
@djpharoah7XL3 жыл бұрын
Isofrane is very comfortable. You need a 24mm notched one to make it wear and look right IMO.

Hello, thank you very much for uploading the video, the black tuna is very handsome, enjoy it At minute 2 and 12" when you put the quartz 1000m, sorry I don't remember the reference, the sbdx014 does NOT have the same color of gold, I tell you because I have had it in hand, apart from that I have the seiko sbdx016 and none of the 3 has the same finish Sorry for my English on Google hahaha Greetings from Huelva, (Spain) pd, guauuuuu con la ISOFRANE pd1, ahh you mention that the bezel movement is in tuna quartz and auto, I like the feel of the 1000m quartz bezel better, more dull, I don't know, have I explained myself mate??

Just got the SBBN040 golden tuna. How does the automatics wear? I have a 6.75 inch wrist and the Sbbn040 is perfectly on the line size wise.
@djpharoah7XL3 жыл бұрын
The automatic are thicker and slightly larger in diameter.. stay tuned for another video.

I just bought one sbdx013, it’s so big! I like it but i am afraid i have to sell it looks like a giant clock on my 6.8 inch wrist
@djpharoah7XL4 жыл бұрын
Yeah ultimately that’s something you’ve got to wear to try. The automatic movement also means it’s heavier than the quartz MM1000 Tunas

I want a stainless steel 1000m automatic Tuna to add to my Tuna collection (currently have the SBDB013 and SBBN031).
@djpharoah7XL4 жыл бұрын
Just so you’re aware they’re all titanium and ceramic. The SS is just the insert on the bezel from what I’ve read. But definitely add a 1000m automatic tuna to that collection.

Your review helped me pull the trigger for a Darth Tuna.😀 Do you think it can fit an isofrane? And should it be 22mm or 24mm? Thanks in advance for your advice.
@djpharoah7XL4 жыл бұрын
Yes it’ll take a 22mm isofrane just fine - isofrane is the best strap for these as they hold the watch from moving around too much.

if you have to choose between SBBN025 with SBDX013 which one you'll pick ?
@djpharoah7XL2 жыл бұрын
I personally would take the SBDX013 as it’s the epitome of the tuna line. It’s also got better wrist presence, wears a smidge more comfortably and is just more badass.

Wouldn't ceramic shroud be too fragile or is the shroud titanium with ceramic coating?

It’s titanium with a ceramic coating.

Great Review of a “Darth Tuna” not the Emperor Tuna which will always be the SBDX011 (which I own)😜
@djpharoah7XL4 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve gathered online is the Darth Tuna is the name for the 1000m Quartz powered Tunas. All 8L35 powered Tunas have the Emperor moniker. 🤔

@@djpharoah7XL 18yrs a member on the Seiko Forums and the SBDX011 is the Only one warranting the Emperor Title all others are called the Darth Quartz or Auto same as the Golden Tuna is the 1000m Gold Bezel and the Grandfather Tuna is the Original 600m Quartz or Auto.Ironically it’s the Forums that have given all these Seikos over the years their Nicknames inc TheSumo,Samurai,Monster,Pipin,Sea Urchin,Arnie,Arnie Reissue,Turtle,Capt Willard,Ninja Turtle,Turtle ,Pogue,Darth,Emperor so I’m only going off the Norm I’ve heard For years😜

@@TheNeilo-Audiosound close my old friend. While I named the SBDX011 “Emperor” back in 2009 on SCWF , I had the first one in the US from Higuchi. Any 8L35 powered Tuna is an Emperor. The original “Darth” is the SBBN011 and any (all black) quartz 1000m Tuna after that. Any quartz powered gold Tuna, whether it be 600m or 1000m are referred as “Golden Tuna”. The “ Grandfather” 7159-7010 is the only Tuna with that name. Like yourself, I’ve been around the forums a long time too as “Spring-Diver”. I also named the SBBN035 “Ninja Tuna” and the SBBN037 “Bluefin Tuna”. It’s pretty cool to name a few of Seiko’s most iconic divers. I’ve owned a few Tuna’s over the years- SBDX011 Emperor , SBBN011 Darth, SBBN007 Tuna, S23611J1 “ Taiwan Golden Tuna” and I bought my original Arnie back in 1982. Love Tuna’s and I’m looking forward to add a SBBN045 to my humble collection in the near future. I’m glad you still own your SBDX011, it’s a great diver! Cheers🍻 Spring-Diver
