I got the new one with the sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel. Yet I found this discontinued one brand new on e bay from Japan and I bought it. The older one looks better

I recently acquired this exact watch. As good as any of my Swiss watches. For me, you have reached Seiko nirvana when this is acquired.

I just bought the new MM300 (SLA021/SBDX023) for $2800 from an AD and love it. It's a TALL watch though. My Seiko collection is almost complete (Monster, Turtle, SBDC051, MM300)... Bad thing though is, I now feel like the only thing for me left to do with Seiko is to buy a Grand Seiko. I'm really eyeing the GMT model with the sapphire bezel and spring drive.

@@mttqll8623 Tuna is a cool watch (not the Baby Tuna). I'm just not into quartz and the Tuna doesn't wear well on my wrist as it lays very flat. I think the new Gundam versions are very cool, but ouch the price.

When I had my MM300, I wore it on a Crafter Blue fitted rubber strap with the seiko clasp.

They make a 44mm 200m Marine Master of sorts! But yes I agree Seiko needs some smaller watches. I bought one of the new mini turtles which is an awesome watch. Wears like a 40mm despite its 42.3mm size.

I would have loved to have that bracelet while I was actively diving. Dive extensions that are either open or closed are helpful, but the much more adjustible new desigh would have been perfect! I do agree that it is overly thick for desk divers!

I bought an SBDC051 and my friend bought an SBDC063. Awesome watches, both. Is the marine master really worth 3 times the prices of the "baby MM"?

I can see your argument about the cost but I would say yes it is worth 3x the cost (but that's just my opinion).

If you are only focused on cost or worried about resale, it’s best to stay closer to the $500 watches. If you are wanting to experience the top Seiko diver then yes it’s worth it. They are not really good to compare, only do it if it makes sense to you. If you are happy with the mm200 then stay with it (amazing watch).

I fell in love with my 51mas and second guessed myself once I saw the baby MM. Both are excellent in their own right and my 51mas is finished almost as well as any Omega Ive seen floating around. Ive never seen an MM in person, but Id imagine its on another level.

I had the SBDC053. I loved that watch but sold it to acquire the MM. The Matinemaster is on another level and must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.

The only thing Doxa has going for it is the unique look. I started into watches with Doxa. Had 5 or 6 750t’s and all their other stuff. After trying Seiko’s higher end stuff like mm300, mm600, and the emperor tuna Doxa is cheap and quality is incomparable.

$2,500 is pretty steep honestly. I suppose it’s worth it if you’re actually a diver but there are lots of watches I’d rather spend that kind of money on.

for 2800 I would get a tudor bb ss version before this . This is nice but I wouldnt personally spend more than 2200 for one of these.

Too thick for 300m. Same thick size other brand can go with 1000m. Seiko must do homework.
