Another great video! I love my SPB439 the white birch version of your watch. Absolutely stunning and the good news is Uncle Straps confirmed that they're working on bracelet options for it. In the meantime, I just swapped the clasp for something little compact.

I’m wearing my 381 right now and it never gets old. Love me a 143 too. Check out that new Urushi presage black lacquer gmt. Pretty sick. Might be a good dress gmt offset for the 143. Cheers bud. I appreciate the comment

I'm looking at this model and the SPB379 Black Alpinist GMT with the same movement. Your review is really helpful (and so professional). I'm wearing my King Turtle now and can't really see why I'd need another Seiko dive watch, unless I gift the Turtle. The replacement would be this SPB381. One thing I love about Seiko divers is how easy they are to read, even if you forget your reading glasses. The bracelets are fine!

@ just saw this GMT in a shop that also had a white dial and black dial alpinist GMT. The diver had a lot more flavor to it. It doesn’t really feel like a big watch at all.

I have the SPB381 and SLA023. My biggest praise for both is damn does Seiko have some kind of magic with both their undersurface AR application. I swear they have some on the outer surface but will take their word for it. The ceramic on the bezel for both is the perfect shininess as well. The other thing that needs to be say and probably one of the biggest reasons I love Seiko divers is the perfect blend of polis and brushed finishing. You never wear a Seiko diver and think it looks to blingy to be a tool watch. But the finishing totally gives that punch above its weight wrist presence. The two things I do not like on both models: 1) Diashield coating - makes the steel look more dull, 2) the bracelet clasps - both are abysmal at the price point (neither has the stock clasp on). I'll never sell the SPB381 because I it's a keepsake from an epic trip I took to Japan. Same thing for the SLA023 because for me it represents the best iteration of a watch that is truly one of the GOATs. I'll admit it can be a bit unwieldy at times.
