i just found this exact watch with no band in my late father's "cheap" watch collection in a shoe box in my basement and I'm pumped! Threw a black rubber wristband on and a 395 battery in it and now it's purring and looking sweet!

I've been diving over 20 meters deep with mine, made in 1991. Watchmaker checked and greased the gaskets before, and said it was good to go! Awesome watch.

I f*ing love Citizen! My most recent purchase is an automatic Citizen from 2015 and I can't take my eyes off of it when I'm wearing it, it's so gorgeous. And they normally come at very reasonable prices, very good value, and make perfect gifts. The only problem I have is, their catalog is too large and you really need to browse through tons of meh-looking models until you find the perfect one lol

Nice review of an interesting watch. I have 3 Citizens. All of them are QC issue-free. 2 are Eco-Drives, the second hand hits all the marks on both of them. They have really good fit and finish, much better then you would expect for the price.

Great time piece. A big surprise is the locking mechanism for the bezel. I wonder why more watch companies do not use it nowadays? The only thing I do not like is the hands set. Thanks for sharing.

That watch has the coolest bezel ever. Looks like the tracks of a tank. Throw Eco-Drive technology on that thing and I would already own it. I don't need another watch but if Citizen re-issued that watch....I'd own it.

I have an identical one but it is marked 1300 meters on the dial and the adjustment rod is at least a quarter.

Awesome watch! Great review, and I like the truth as some other people underestimate the citizen watches since, I've seen them in the market since I was a little kid and they are in my opinion way better than Rolex or even seiko for value, reliability, durability and dependability! I think CITIZEN and CASIO G AND PRO TREK lead the world watch, since citizen offers automatic watches also and I have the NY 0040 and I had the baby tuna and in my opinion the NY 0040 won the my wrist and the citizen have won my appreciation and respect in horology!! Swiss watches are just an ok object and I've have people borrow their watches so I can experience them and I keep coming back to my own citizens and Casio PRO TREK and g shock

Firstly, I wondered where is my favorite opening melody. Then it arrived as an aftershock. Btw, this time piece is a serious can-opener... or at least it was before. Hope, you/owner of this will service it properly in order to acknowledge this 80 bar pressure resistance. Otherwise this tool is a wrench without teeth.

That is an mazing watch with a clearly superior quartz movement. Just a question. In some ecodrives, not all, I have noticed that the minute hands is a bit loose, about 1/3 of a minute mark. Is it a design choice or is it some case of gear bakclash? have you seen something like this in analog quartz watches?

I'm going to purchase one of these watches for $1,200 how can I tell if the watch is Real by looking at pictures. There is one noticeable difference the 800 on your watch face is white the one on the watch that I am purchasing is a reddish orange color. Please help!!

Wow, i've always wondered and now I'm asking you, given you got it done: How do you know how to put that seconds hand so spot on? How do you know how many 'degrees' you have to push it forward or backward? Are there any indicators on the inside? Or is this a trial and error type of thing? Maybe time for a 'Watch & learn ;-) ? It is a dive timing bezel, you can use it to time your dive or pretty much anything. You line it up with the minute hand and as the time moves and the minute hand moves, you read your elapsed time of the bezel
