@@turokforever007 false acdc was doing auditions for a new lead singer Noddy holder went and tried for the band but was turned down not because of his singing ability but simply because he will always be remembered for the Christmas song he did and acdc didn't wasn't that image on the band and then later went and hired Brian Johnson after he was asked to audition for the band

@@progamer134extra5 Noddy never went and was never asked to audition. he turned down the offer from the bands management to join. would of been no need for him to audition as he had the voice they wanted.

@@progamer134extra5 Noddy left Slade because he wanted to leave the business. If that story is wrong than he could've and would've shown up in a band soon after Slade. He didn't.

Loved Slade, never got the recognition they deserved in the US. I didn't discover them until 1984 when Run Runaway came out. I went and bought all their old stuff. I just loved it. Loved the humorous lyrics and just a great beat. Noddy is such fun.

A lot of people considered Slade a pop act but Noddy could have easily handled vocals for Led Zeppelin.

Strange you should say that....Noddy used to drive Robert Plant around to gigs before Plant joined Led Zeppelin and before Noddy was in Slade. Noddy used his Dad's window cleaner's van, full of buckets and the like. In an interview in a Midlands radio studio not too long ago, Robert Plant made a plea for Noddy to get back into singing. (Noddy lives up in Preston now and doesn't perform anymore).

Fantastic humor! What an interview! Great chemistry. I would love to interview Noddy holder. completely underrated man and band. America boycotted that band I think. In favor of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Noddy was a party--Plant and Ozzy were like a hit of acid. Spade was the favorite party band in my party years. the musicians individually were so great that you didn't notice them individually you noticed the band.

I've got some Irish DNA but I am Birmingham born and bred and would never claim to be Irish. His mother and father are from Walsall, his paternal grandfather is from Tettenhall, so like me, any Irish ancestry he has is a few generations back. He is an English Black Country lad and very proud of it.

Lol proper Black Country!!!! Frank does what every Black Country Person does who have moved out the Black Country Years prior!!!! As soon as a ex resident of Black Country talks to a Yam Yam their accent immediately becomes as Strong as before they left.... Every Yam Yam does it, It’s like dam I’m Home now I can be Me as the way We talk can have negative effects in the rest of the Country....
